Hello fellow Technicians,

I have been presented a number of these for repair and although I have 40 years experience in repair of tape decks, these units with a lack of any documentation are a real problem to repair- they seem to play with a squeal and I have yet to be given a tape to see how they work- I know they are rim drive but the reel table should be moving I would think if they were working correctly. They do not seem to rotate even those both motor's

do work in fast wind. Any ideas what is going on with these? They are considered microcassettes. (no capstan holes in tapes).
