Older Sony D6 fast speed repair Sony 175-11 package rebuilted

retrodos - 2012-11-13 01:52

This Sony D6 has a issue were speed play to fast and motor won't shutoff, but uses a unavailable 175-11 SIP package instead of the common CX20084 SOP16 package IC, so going to repair it instead. But do have to remove the outer casing first, to get to the PCB, which will take 1-3 days to soften in acetone.

You are going to repair the original IC? Interesting. Could you explain the procedure you are about to perform?

First soften the coating off the PCB, then I will see what options I have, it could take days to soften?  One note use a glass jar.

This as of now is experimental, have to see what chip and layout is on the PCB, under that layer first?

Afer 13 hours started peeling by the IC so peel it off with razer blade and IC is 20024, back in the jar the SIP  when, intill more soften.

Love this post ....getting down to decapping and resurrecting an old IC is taking walkman repair to a new level of dedication

Just SMD SOP package on a PCB, problem is IC no longer available? Need to find a data sheet for a suitable replacement, or rig it.
