wm-f100 belt

doober314 - 2013-08-02 16:34

Just got a hold of a wm-f100 that needs a belt.  Anybody know what size belt goes with this model?

I need like 8 of these, just got done doing research can't find the size but here is the Sony part Number  3-329-695-01  Check this post out very helpful:http://REPLACEMENT ERROR/topic/sony-service-manuals

The belt size is approximately a 55mm dia belt 0.7mm thick - approx 162mm cut length.

Replacing a belt in a used unit can be a slightly daunting task at times due to the following variables that affect final playback quality - wow /flutter:

1. belt thickness variations vs stiffness of the rubber even within 3 belts of the 'same size' from different manufacturers

2. belt diameter tolerances - exact size/slightly tighter/hopefully not looser(won't work)?

It helps to be able to play around with close matching sizes eg : 55/58/60mm dia in any size above 49mm - so folks with wm10s are much luckier than the ones who like autoreverse units with larger diameters between 55 to 85.

Original sources have almost run dry and it is now up to us to patiently try selecting the best belt from a set/selection of them.

I ordered 6 of them from turntable needle.com about 1 month ago.  And I had to send them back, they were too thick.  good luck on getting them from them, but they were way too wide for the spindle Originally Posted by COOPER:

I think that 0.7mm square is the smallest that they have. sorry this did not help. cooper

Perhaps you ordered 1.2mm belts? 0.7mm are extremely thin.
