Hi Folks,
Newbie to forum, excuse me if I am in the wrong forum.
I am thinking of putting a WM-F702 on Ebay.
It has the battery charger, headphones with remote control, original felt carry case, optional outboard AA battery holder attachment, original rechargeable battery (rechargeable is not any good). Radio works but I have been told it probably needs a new belt for the cassette drive. You can hear the motor run but nothing moves. It is in perfect, as new cosmetic condition. Has been sitting for 15 or more years.
Is it worth trying to sell or is this a throw away?
Hi, it is a good job you are posting it as them types of walkmans are too good to throw away.
Some people just collect them just for the sake of it. Like me.
Do you have an idea what price you are thinking off?
Or better to let it run on ebay and see what you get.
Colin
Hi Colin,
I have no idea what it is worth. Someone suggested I put a new belt in it but I am not sure I want to risk taking this apart. It seems very well built. (I think I paid close to $300 when it was new.)
I am hoping someone on the forum has some knowledge of what it might be worth.
Thanks for the reply.

Please note, it's near impossible to say what walkmans are worth, it all depends on whether or not there's anyone around at the time who wants it. Sadly there's only around 40 people in the world who are interested in this stuff so I wish you well.
they fetch about $80 new zealand dollars down here, reckon on ebay you'll get about $50 US and it depends on how bad someone wants it as to what the top price will be
Sounds about right.
This unit is not retro in my view.
yeah its an late 89-91 model from what i remember, i have one of these but its got issues with power and the belt
Thanks guys!
I will put it on ebay and see what happens.
Thanks for all of the help.
