walkgirl - 2009-09-22 21:41

The old aiwas are very nice!, that does make the buy
not soo expensive anymore! Cool

elite1502323 - 2009-09-23 08:24

Who makes the one that is named "Pee Wee"?

philmurray - 2009-09-23 15:10

When i recieve the box of walkmans i'll probably get rid of the panasonics and others. Ill keep all the aiwa and sony high end ones but ill offer the rest on here for those who are interested Smile

philmurray - 2009-09-23 18:25

Let me get all the Panasonics at very least the blue one, will buy them for a reasonable price. Only reason I didn't jump on the offer and passed it up, because I spend over $700 on some highend Sonys yesterday, that I had to get WM-D6C, WM-EX5 and WM-EX1.

I'll be honest, this stash is a rogues gallery of the hardes units to fix. I'm guessing these were from a collectors 'can't fix in a million years' box.

walkgirl - 2009-09-25 08:26

This one is more better Big Grin Cool

ao - 2009-09-25 09:45

Wow, that's a nice stash

drmr2000 - 2009-09-25 11:30

That is a much better auction, like those highend Sonys, would love to get that JVC CX-5

rerooted - 2009-09-26 23:12

agentorange hit the nail on the head. i was almost ready to hit the buy button when that feeling came over me that i wouldn't be able the fix these in a million years. i already have one of those piles of my own so why add on to it.

WOW OVER 500 DOLLARS, WON FOR A OLD STASH OF A FEW REPAIRABLES Leaving

johnedward - 2009-09-27 10:07

The German Ebay auction COLLECTION 14 players
of 14 players has 7 VERY VALUABLE UNITS most all 14 are functioning some with orig. headphones. IT is only $42 USD or $28 Euro for EACH player at $590 USD sell price. Separately sold the players my guess value at todays upscale selling prices would be $1200 to $ 1,600 USD ( from $60 to $200 value per item on ebay ). My experience is as a seller never sell a "collection" or many Walkmans in one auction. Sold one player per auction you get a lot more money due to in a collection of many only one or two really interest most buyers OR idea of paying $400 to $700 one time sale scares away many buyers.) It is my experience watching past year that often not always if the collection of models as in this case most are very collectible good to excellent condition with most working you can get a real bargain!. With 7-9 models very worth keeping could sell off remaining 5-7 in separate auctions and probably get back 50%-70% of original purchase price so real price paid for many excellent collectable models only $200-$300 now that's a DEAL !!!

510 : Actually seller states 9 functioning, 3 not functioning Tosh's need belts radio works, and 2 partial functioning. Realizing we do not know how well functioning the 9 units are ( most valuable ones ) but considering the quality and knowledge of collectors choice of players safely figure this man when says functioning they are good functioning units. Guess the buyer will find out soon enough.

Gidday all, the box lot of walkmans arrived. Majority of the sony and aiwa's need belts so nothing major.

Panasonic models are as follows

RQ-SX11 X 2
RQ-S33
RQ-S50
RQ-S3
RQ-S40
RQ-X10

most look like they are good for parts only apart from the RQ-X10 which is one i have from my own collection but i dont collect panasonics so there ya go

Smile A PART OUT OF THE SONY WALKMAN HISTORY:

Launch of the Sony Walkman

On June 22 1979, the Sony Walkman was launched in Tokyo. Journalists were treated to an unusal press conference. They were taken to Yoyogi (a major park in Tokyo) and given a Walkman to wear. According to Sony, "The journalists listened to an explanation of the Walkman in stereo, while Sony staff members carried out various demonstrations of the product. The tape the journalists were listening to asked them to look at certain demonstrations, including a young man and woman listening to a Walkman while riding on a tandem bicycle."

By 1995, total production of Walkman units reached 150 million and over 300 different Walkman models have been produced to date. Smile Smile
