way to go ,,,that's really good money....some day not to far in the future i wouldn't be surprised one like that goes for 7,100. dollars. investors could easily push it up that far. i'm old enough to have seen it happen before.
WAY TO GO, YOUR ROLLIN IN THE DOUGH!!!
U are a genius.
Wow, that's great news.
I'd say this warrants another four or five posts on the topic. Maybe post your good fortune up in the boombox section.
I'm off to the fireworks shop.

yeah I remember this too, so where's DrMR2000 Commission for this $$$ advice?
well if you are paying attention it's now probable that the boxes are bringing more than the players. just recently i am seeing boxes for sale quite often without any contents. i think they are all selling too. it would be quite easy for a counterfiter to print up some almost perfect copies of a tps-l2 box. it would be very difficult to reproduce almost any cassette player. the first thing will be fake serial numbers. i can't think of any collectable that has gotten turned almost upside down. a much better idea would be to sell custom display cases which would be legal and profitable. i think something like they make to display baseballs and footballs would have a good market in the future. i would be the first in line to pick up a few.
Oh, the box is key. With the box it opens these auctions to an entirely wider market. We've seen boxed WM-2s and TPS-L2s go for big money recently, my guess is that these are bought as an investment. We love these things but how many of us collect to make money, certainly not me. Collecting walkmans and making money from walkmans are at opposite ends of the spectrum in my view. Except that is, when collectors need to raise funds
In partstore.com many original boxes are listed with Sony part number .
For example DD-100 box of acres SONY-partnumber 3-324-417-
http://www.partstore.com/Part/...y/332441701/New.aspxHave someone there tried to order from a box ?
Yeah, but don't you think that the serial number on the box should match the serial number on the Walkman? If they match, they are a complete collectable package. Anyone who is thinking of buying a Walkman with box should ask the seller in advance if the serial numbers match.

no and why bother? i'm not a seller here...
A Ziplock plastic bag {Quart} or [Gallon] size works terrifically for keeping all parts together !!!

Agree on that one, more worry about the units condition then anything, and if it come with all the accessories, but there are some units I have to have the box, building a nice glass display case for these.
