Hey all! I'm new here, but wanted to let you know I came across a Cybernet PS-101, and have listed it on Ebay here

Here are a few images of it as well:

Thanks! -Ryan

Seen a couple of these over the years, it would be interesting to know if this is a clone or a homegrown unit. I have to say though, it's no 'mini' despite it's name.

Is my opening bid price of $29 about in range with current values? I have little experience with vintage walkmans and personal radios, but it seemed like a fair price point.

Impossible to say, the best approach (I always do it) is to list with no opening price or reserve. Nothing puts a collector off than the hint that either the seller doesn't want to sell it or has a 'slight' idea of it's worth.

Seriously, list it at 0.01, this will make potential buyers think they have found something which may be a bargain then they will add it to their watch queue. We all know that over 90% of bids are placed in the closing 5 mins of the auction so you want to get as many watchers as possible. A reserve will see off much of your interest, I assure you.

This walkman is a lot like my Infinity Intimate. Are they maybe similar companies?

Hello,
These Cybernet units, the PS-101 here, and also the Cybernet PS-103 were very good, heavy built units from Japan. The word is, that this one, the PS-101 was designed to be better than the original Sony, which was not called a walkman yet, the TP-LS or something....Anyway..the Cybernet units are the same Manufacturer as KLH and Kyocera....Cybernet made the 1980's Kyocera units as well. I have one of these, and the sonics are excellent...I needed to adjust the azimuth a touch, and bang...perfect..Thanks AO...Ray
