johnedward - 2010-04-01 11:49

Well people my bet is this one is going to reach high dollars when sold. ANY ideas what you think it will sell for ? THIS IS ONE RARE WALKMAN !!!
Sure is ugly faded to aquamarine instead of the pretty sky blue it once was.

ofcourse it does Big Grin

I have only ever seen one on Yahoo Japan and that that was some time ago, this one had also turned an ugly green colour this is due to the plastic yellowing from UV damage. I don't think it will sell for a huge amount due to the colour and damage it has.
Here's what it should look like:

Agent, I remember just after I got started on this collecting trip to no-where you said that you'd swap a child for one of these! Hope you didn't mean it.

ao - 2010-04-03 11:37

Hahaha, OK, offer is still open. The winner can take their pick.

johnedward - 2010-04-03 14:09

I raised to boys... OH MY GOD !!! after walking in on that hand and foot body room and TV /couch painting..... at that moment TRADE THEM BOTH for the walkman.......

IF you raised children we all have been there one way or another and more than ONCE !!!

Directions for colour change of common yellow `solar' to rarer white`solar'
1 Engage competent workmen (two of)
2 Mix paint.
3 Apply carefully.
4 Thoroughly clean up.

Obviously you are now cotemplating step 4

Alas, those aren't my kids, if they were I'd swap them for a broken Panasonic RX-1924 believe me.

Here are mine...

zx280 - 2010-04-04 20:56

You were quite right MRP. Condition was not good enough to warrant a high price. Still....I wonder when well see another.

a same colored one went for 1000 usd in japan, yearsss ago.

never saw a perfect one.

drmr2000 - 2010-04-08 21:44

Would have paid up to 1k if it was in better condition, that one was beatup, had to many problems, who knows if we ever will see one for sale in good condition. Have the yellow and white one, just need that blue one and the matching active speakers that goes with these.

19lexicon78 - 2010-04-09 09:15

i never would pay 1k for a colored one
perhaps a nos blue one.
