I have one Sony D6C Pro with box for sale, has a problems but works, got it from eBay not working from this cr#p seller that claim it had problems but fail tell me someone try working on it and chiped the case where the record level potentiometer goes and broke the potentiometer right off.

But was able to order a brandnew level potentiometer from eBay and fix the recording problem and change the DC servo motor IC. Replaced rew and fw gear due to it lockup and broke, so installed a used one I had from another D6C that was shot. Works great now Play works good, and now recording from mic and line in works and auto stops works plus speed tune works. Only thing that does not works is rewind and forward it start for 5sec then stops!!

Got some of my money back already, was going to sent it back to get the rest of my money back, but rather then sent it back to the seller working, so he can turn around and sell it for a higher amount, rather sell it to someone that can use it or even fixed the problem, overall in good condition except for the small chip where where the record level knob is. PM me with your offer rather avoid ebay due to cost.

What would you be asking for it? I'm not real familiar with the inner workings of this Walkman but was wondering if it has something to do with excessive back tension or similar issue. Would that make the deck think it was at the end of the tape and cause it to auto-shutoff? Seems you are familiar with doing repairs. Any thoughts?
