jameswp67 - 2008-04-18 19:29

I can buy it and sit on it for Her/Him

ao - 2008-04-21 06:49

I've just placed a bid (reserve only) just in case we miss it but Kristi, if you're reading this then feel free to bid higher (by one cent).

71spud - 2008-04-21 10:46

If I am not mistaken she needs to buy it herself on ebay... her guardian will only allow her to buy it on ebay. She has been asking one of us to put one up on ebay so she can buy it. I don't think that she can pay for it otherwise. I did some searching for this on-line for her and all I found was dozens of posts by Kristi looking for it, in all different forums, for a long period of time. So if she doesn't see this in time to bid the winner will have to put it back up on ebay for her... or donate it to her... I suppose some of us can chip in too and just give her the dman thing....

It is kind of odd that she can only buy off of ebay... like that is the most honest place ever. Probably the best solution would be to buy it (if she doesn't) take delivery, make sure it works 100% and then send it to her at no charge. Then once her guardian sees that she is not being taken advantage of she can send payment after the fact....

I don't know... just throwing out ideas...

Did anyone post to any of the threads she started for this? For how much she wants this one would think she would have it set up to notify.... and also automatic ebay searches too...

ao - 2008-04-21 10:53

So let me get this straight, have you listed this item for her?

If i win I plan to give it to her as a gift.

jameswp67 - 2008-04-21 12:29

I am with Agent on this, I will happily contribute and those afraid of highjackers can sleep a bit easier... Roll Eyes

walkgirl - 2008-04-21 13:27

I hope Christy Carr will read this soon!, otherwise
the walkman is gone forever!! Frown

tranxmetal - 2008-04-21 14:07

For the first time in the history, I put a bid in this Walkman on e-pay. I hope to win this RX because I can't sleep thinking the day finally I got one. (Yes, also I have a lot of friends searching the flea markets trying to find one RX-1924.) At this time, I think, the most wanted Walkman around here ever...

tranxmetal - 2008-04-21 14:10

Oh, and of course, in case if I win the bid, is for donate to K.C. Big Grin

ao - 2008-04-21 14:55

I have to go to bed now but please, can someone keep an eye on it. I've only bid to meet the reserve but feel free to bid higher;

No I didn't list it... it is kinda late, but if you have been following her search or read my post correctly you will know what I mean. She CANT buy it from anyone other than off of ebay for some reason. So if one of us buys it, it will either have to be relisted or given as a gift. I vote for gift and I will donate towards it no matter who wins.. as long as Kristi Carr gets it....

ao - 2008-04-21 23:32

Ooops

71spud - 2008-04-22 06:11

Well.... that sucks....

This is why I hate ebay's policy of hiding bidders IDs... Tranxmetal said that he had placed a bid on this walkman and at the time it was just agentorange and someone else in the bidding (with ID hidden). So I assumed that it was tranxmetal. However unless Tranxmetal from Chilangolandia, Mexico D.F. OR Kristi Carr is actually "sweetlisa2you" from the USA I think Kristi missed out. It is a shame.... but I don't feel entirely sorry for her. She was contacted multiple times about this and an automatic ebay search notification would have told her about this auction too. But it is a shame none-the-less... Frown

panasonic.fan - 2008-04-22 06:46

You all went above and beyond the call of duty for her. Hopefully she got it and/or will post here about not getting so we know to keep a look out for her.

ao - 2008-04-22 11:14

I think our business here is done

- 2008-04-22 18:14

Surprise I won the Panasonic RX-1924 walkman.Sorry to worry you all at stereo2go.I didnt get time to write last night because I was viewing the auction.Sweetlisa2you bids on all of my walkmans for me because I dont have PayPal on eBay.I cant wait until it comes to her house so she can bring it on over .I will see what I can do for pics if her ditital camera is working and get some pictures of the box it came in too but no promises.80s walkmans rule!Kristi Carr

YAY! Big Grin

71spud - 2008-04-24 08:05

Good news, but not very smart not to tell us. One of us could have been bidding against you. Lots of people were looking out for you and to go MIA right when your grail shows up.... No No

ao - 2008-04-24 10:24

Well, one of us was.

Are you referring to the first bidder with feedback of 958? That was you right? Who was bidding with the feedback of 231? Tranxmetal?

If that was also "one if us" it would have cost her $12 less if she would have said something. Heck, if I were bidding and I knew for sure that she was not able to I probably would have gone to $100 due to the extremely personal and specific nature of her quest. I was afraid that she would be bidding at some point without saying anything so I did nothing. Good thing I did.... Roll Eyes

- 2008-05-04 18:15

Again Im very sorry about waiting until the next day to write you guys but thats bound to happen again if I go to bed before the auction ends. Please forgive me though, you guys are the best online friends at stereo2go Ive ever had. Even though Ive never met any of you you all are the warmest, caring friends Ive ever met and nobody any else cared about my walkman as much as you guys. Thanks for being there for me.80s walkmans rule!Kristi Carr

tranxmetal - 2008-05-05 00:18

Sony Walkman WM DD100 Boodo Khan
was this it ?

tranxmetal - 2008-05-07 01:18

Oooohh Yeaaahhhh.... That is!

But looks to be too expensive, considering I never has to buy nothing at Epay, all my walkmans, BBxs and old radios are from garaje sales, yard sales, thrift stores, flea markets, my neighbors, some friends... And I always was paying about $5 for a good condition walkman, about $2 or $3 dollars for a dead walkman, or for a "rare brand" walkman.... The most expensive walkman I bougt, was a SONY WM-FX493 because was new, with all accesories, remote control, headphones, carrying pouch, etc. And cost me $25 dollars.... In a flea market.

I hope soon with a little bit of luck, I finally find some DD100 in good condition around here, nobody knows.... Can I pay only $5 dlls for one of this!

- 2008-06-09 17:24

Is there an expert who can tell me the exact month and day the Panasonic RX-1924 walkman was made as well as how much it would be worth to find one still in the origional box mint but opened with the box torn at one corner?Im curios either way.I know the walkman was made in 1985 sometime.I got the year down as to when the little guy was made.Information please!80s walkmans rule!Kristi Carr.

walkgirl - 2008-06-10 00:54

I think it is impossible to say from which
month theyb are, unless it is on the walkman
somewhere written!, or you have to write a
email to the panasonic factory Smile
