nak.d - 2008-09-24 13:32

Well Agent, possibly the biggest news this forum has had in a long while. I hope everything is OK your end and that life is still good for you. Let us know! Smile

autoreverser - 2008-09-24 13:40

i know him well enough to say he's better then ever !

ao - 2008-09-24 13:58

Everything's fine. The plain truth is that family & career are my main priorities & there simply hasn't been time in my life for Walkmans & Boomboxes recently. I won't say my interest has wavered any, I just have a lot of other things going on. Restoring the house from top to bottom isn't helping either.

I will be listing about 80% of my walkmans plus all boomboxes (OK, OK, minus one or two) in the new year.

erniejade - 2008-09-24 14:00

Hey just remember to stop in from time to time and say Hi.

redbenjoe - 2008-09-24 15:37

DIBS on everything !! Big Grin

---reading your posts has been lots of informative fun, AO -- so hope you keep on writing here --

panasonic.fan - 2008-09-24 18:10

Well AO I hope this simply means that you're going to reduce your collection(s), but still be seen here from time to time. I'm happy with whatever makes you and yours happy, and if that's less time here then you have your priorities in good order.

I would be interested in what Walkman models you are selling, and of course, any Panasonic boxes you may be parting with to make room. Please PM a list to me when you have sorted through and decided what is going to pull an Elvis.....

jameswp67 - 2008-09-24 20:12

Wow! I hope all is well and continues to be so, stop by from time to time and make the newbies quake in their booties! Of course we all want to scavenge your collection, is there anything you want? PM me if I can help,

milosancho - 2008-09-24 22:41

This is huge, say it isn't so. AO, you're the walkman guru we all look up to. But priorities are not a bad thing. Enjoy life and family.
For me, it's been months since I aquired any new walkman. But I'll tell ya, I'm on this board almost every day. I don't often post, but I read them all. We all hope to see you around still.

ao - 2008-09-24 23:46

Oh crumbs, I knew this was a mistake. What a great bunch you all are.

My decision is based only on the time spent with my collection, i.e. collecting, fixing, swapping, supplying. The knowledge is still there, as is the interest.

So I'm not going anywhere.

r.o.y.a.l - 2008-09-25 02:50

If its not a money issue, box up the walkmans and I'll keep em here for you sealed like a goodun until it's time for them to return to their master ! I have heated loft space Wink

masterblaster84 - 2008-09-25 15:47

AO this is big news to all but I think we can understand your reasoning. I just hope you don't regret parting with your toys, you have some kind offers to store them. No matter what you do we still want you around but I have to agree that family takes priority over everything.

What ever you sell I'm sure we will be standing in line as much as possible. Nod Yes

ao - 2008-09-26 06:37

I know I'm not going to make any friends here but I will be listing any walkmans/boomboxes on eBay in the new year. Everything is in storage while we fix up our house & that's where they will be staying until the house is done. Thanks for all the PM requests but I'm affraid I'm really not in a position to dig stuff out & send it on at the moment. Who knows, I may review the whole situation when I get them back.

- 2008-09-26 17:58

By the way on the Panasonic boxes I call the Panasonic RX-1924 box 1st because I think its the box that Rocks and I call his Panasonic RX-1924 Walkman whether or not its mint in the box. That would be sweet if I found on mint in the box.How much would it be worth?Im sure you are sick and tired of hearing about the walkman but if you got a box, walkman, catalog,ad,or brochure I love to see pics below. Thanks Agentorange!80s walkmans rule!Kristi C.

masterblaster84 - 2008-09-26 20:44

AO I certainly don't fault you for your decision to list on ebay, you'll still be a great member here.

Just a thought, if your inclined to try to sell any boxes here I would love a shot at your Sharp GF-9696. The 9696 is one of the few boxes left on my list I would like, If that doesn't work for you it's certainly no sweat.

Take care and good luck, hope to see your posts at least occasionaly. Nod Yes

prutz0r - 2008-09-27 23:08
