Stunning bit of kit. But how much ? Red Face I guess if this were left to run as a normal auction the price would be understandably high...but not £1,319.48!

Well it that sells anywhere close to 2 grand $USD it must be a new record for Walkmans. Since my preference collecting is the any mfg. original 4 years or so and the smaller high tech later models I have tracked Ebay sales of this model. Am unsure of when the 3000 model came out but the JX-2000 was Aiwa's 10th Aniv. model Interesting to see crazy money paid. Personally $120 USD has been highest I paid after 125 Walkmans.

HS-JX3000 March 13,09 Germany no headphones boxed nice $227 Euro

HS-JX2000 Dec. 8,08 AUSTRALIA boxed $475 USD
NOTE sold at this price with stuck auto rev. problem ,would play but kept change dir. WOW!

HS-JX2000 Jan. 7-09 France $88 EURO boxed used

Here is great pic of JX3000

HERE is the JX2000 This is the 10th Anniversary model for Aiwa says so on front

WOW just found this WM-D3 NIB from same guy listed on Ebay. He is in the stars with his pricing on the Aiwa even if NIB. He wants $600 USD for the D3 also pricey. Must admit his picture quality on ebay is excellent very clear and up close. He also has several other NIB must have found a sony dealers warehouse.

EBAY WM-D3

EBAY WM-EX5 $300

EBAY WM-WE1 $300

YIKES!!!!!! Eek Eek

johnedward - 2009-05-18 15:17

Something is fishy... most of this guys listings ended with buy it now from a buyer with 0 feedback..very odd especially that the Aiwa sold at 2 grand...

eingang - 2009-05-21 17:47

Oh no ! Something is wrong with this seller. Suddenly some unknown person out of nowhere buys this walkman for 2000$ .... and suddenly exactly the same auction is online again ....

Item number 140322291399

This type of walkman is sold in Chinese DaoBao for 550BHT which is something around 600€ or 750$ (just estimated). And this walkman is much more wanted in China.

Also no statement about working order. I have never seen a perfectly working JX3000 yet. Did anyone of you ?????

i have been doing this playing ebay thing for about 4 years. i can only remember 2-3 of the gold aiwas on the eba usa in that time period. seems like none of them worked very well as i recall. i don't remember a whole lot of interest in them either. one thing i have noticed though are some very strong price increases for high end-boxed players but only in the last few months.some of the nicer players under 100.00 seem to be strong and bring closer to 200.00 in the last few months. i would be surprised if all these increases are really on the up and up or the real thing.

Yeah this auction is full of SH@#. When buying something like this, I would think that you have to pick it up in person. There is no way I would send $2,000 to some YAHOO! over in China for a walkman.

to me it seems a good value and fair price to start an auction. this 2000 dollar stuff is way out of line in my opinion.
