New, Sealed AIWA PB-S5A battery for HS PX-1000

Howdy
For sale I have 2 extra, new in sealed original package Aiwa PB-S5A batteries. This RARE battery can be used for the HS-PX1000 and other similar models. Unfortunately these were not cheap, but I'll offer them to the group, pre-ebay, for $45 each ($5) shipping in the USA.
PM me if interested.

Nah Big Grin

My HSPX1000 does work on 2 ikea aaa batteries also,
10 for €1.50 Eek

yeah nicolle, but the PX 1000 looks WAY cooler and smaller when you don't have that bulky, black AAA battery pack hanging off of the side....

Your price of $50 including shipping seems excessively high since this gumstick can be bought from www.partstore.com for about $28 each including shipping. You must talk to a salesman and tell him it is for the Aiwa HS-PX557.

Hey cassettefiend, I did not know that Partstore still had this part. That's good to know, but I wish I had checked with them before paying more. Thanks for the info.

I do not mind the black thing, as I do not use
the walkman very often, it is a nice walkman
but really boring to use

When I would have that battery it would get broken
from not using, so I better spend my money on
other stuff Smile

Cassettefiend, I checked with Partstore and the PB-S5A rechargeable Aiwa battery is continually back-ordered, which usually means that the item is no longer available. Having said that, these are very difficult batteries (in sealed package) to find. I think I might still have a couple, though.

i received an item from partstore.com which was back ordered in about 2 weeks after the first order.

Sad to say, it's been 5-6 weeks since it was back ordered through Partstore.

Greetings to everyone.

I have been searching long times for working PB batteries from Aiwa. I got lots of them, in some cases I was successful in reanimating them.
Well, those ones, which are about 10%, keep working about 1 hour, which is a little but better than nothing. Some I had to charge for a week or even more. Still I am going on like that.

Up to now I got 5 PB-S5, one PB-4 and three PB-S4 working.

Finally I got a new and sealed PB-4 and guess what, it is completely dead, it´s trash. Well, I just thought that those batteries will cristalize inside and new sealed ones should be unsusable, but now I got the evidence.

If you want those akkus working there is only one chance - get used ones that have been loaded fully before they hadn´t been used anymore. If they are not too old there is a chance. Forget sealed packs, they are worthless (except you want to collect them).

Anyway, is there anyone who kows all types of PB-batteries ? I have PB-2, PB-3, PB-4, PB-S4, PB-5, PB-S5. Are there PB-1, PB-S1, PB-S2 or PB-S3 too ? Are there any higher numbers than 6 ?

Cheers dear friends
