SOLD Sony WM-7 Good Cosmetic Condition Needs Belt
kirbenvost - 2011-05-20 20:45
I have for sale a silver Sony WM-7 in good but not perfect cosmetic condition. It powers up but does not play, you can hear the mechanism working but it won't turn the tape. Most likely the belt needs replacing.
The player has minor scratches and scuffs on the front, control side and back. Both the Sony and Walkman logos have some scuffing, but it seems to be a well-cared for player. There is some minor battery leakage residue in the battery compartment but the parts are intact, including the fabric battery pull strip. Battery cover is intact and fits tightly. The Walkman does not come with the original headphones but has the case, apparently unused shoulder strap and owner's manual with warranty documentation.
I do not have the skills to replace the belt myself so I'm offering it up for sale. Please make an offer. Payment through Paypal only, actual shipping cost from Canada paid by the buyer. Willing to ship to most countries but of course the shipping cost will be higher overseas. I will also provide photos on request, I don't have time to take them right now.
I will also consider a trade for a working Walkman, depending on what model. I'm interested in the WM-10 family, especially WM-30.

Thanks but it's a bit out of my budget right now. I'd like to sell the WM-7 first.

Mine didn't cost too much and I'm certain it can be repaired as it was kept in very good condition by the original owner, I just don't have the skills to repair it myself.

Here are some pictures of the WM-7. It comes with the case and strap as well, and even the original paperwork. Unfortunately it doesn't have the original remote headphones, but it has some cheap newer Sony models with it.
Everything looks perfect inside:
Except for a small amount of battery leakage, but the unit still powers up, it just doesn't play, it continually auto-reverses instead.

I am selling it, but no one has made an offer yet. I will respond to your message.

I would be interested in the WM-7. I'm in the UK.
If it's still available..
kirbenvost - 2011-07-13 16:20
It's still available, but I'm located in Canada so shipping might be expensive or take more time. Are you okay with that?
patrik - 2011-07-13 16:36
I started a dialog for details. Not sure how this works..

Hi David!
I paid for the item yesterday, I'm afraid.

Yes, sorry I meant to update the thread. The WM-7 has been sold.

It's OK. WM-7 is a excellent cassette player.

David, check ebay US! You will get a good price in my opinion, although it has some issues. (The one with the bad door) I'd snap it up if I could justify it.. (I can't, as I'm going crazy buying tape decks at the moment.)

The WM-7 arrived yesterday! It is on very nice cosmetic condition. Many thanks! (The very long time it took to arrive was due to me going for a very low cost postage option.)

Depending upon your Age Before and THEN Your age After when You get something that You bought and had shipped ( Surface shipping via Boat Over Water - Oversea's ) Make's you think Twice about Paying the few or a LOT as the case may be, Bux, pounds, Dinero; for the shipping speed .. Once you Finally Get the Item you have been waiting for the Past Very Long time - to the time that ( if bought off of epay ) you cannot leave feedback cause SO Much time has passed... Or ... In the past here ... had forgotten about waiting for what-ever and then something showed up at the door and then u remembered u had Money Long ago but couldnt remember what you spent it on & Now You Know
