Anyone looking for an opportunity to add one of these to their collection will probably have a chance here pretty soon.  This unit appears to not have been used much if any.  Everything it came with is still sealed under the walkman.  Ear phones look like they haven't been used, really clean.  This unit looks like it had been stashed away for years somewhere, the cardboard box has some minor mildew stains in it, and the cover of the box has some staining also.   But interior looks awesome, I don't know if it's ever even been used, you can tell its been handled over the years probably to just oogle and admire, but as I said everything else is still sealed.  I have not tested this unit yet, but I'm going to here soon.  I don't want to mess with the rechargeable battery so I'm wondering,   as I am not to familiar with this model, does the extra black battery compartment that snaps on to the side of this replace the rechargeable battery?  Can I test it using that? I'd check the directions... but they are sealed!  

I Didn't have the box with me that has the charger and black piece with it for the pictures, but I will have pics of those soon also.

 does the extra black battery compartment that snaps on to the side of this replace the rechargeable battery?  YES normally a AA Battery goes in there ... if it is a alkaline battery then that aux-battery compartment used with this,,, will allow this to operate for a longer time than the " gumstick " internal battery by itself ....  AND when added to-gether in operation this will operate for a very long time useing both batteryies

I test it and I'm guessing the band is broke, because it comes on, and I hear the motor turning but its not turning the tape gears.
