Sony TC-D5M for sale

xtof.huygens - 2012-01-05 05:33

Not really a walkman, but for sale from my Sony collection is a new, unused and still in the factory plastic TC-D5M. Original factory packaging, manual, carry bag all there obviously.  Maybe somebody here expands into the recorder field so ...

Where are you based Xtof.  I'm quite interested in this unit but fractionally more interested in any Esprit items you may have.

xtof.huygens - 2012-01-05 09:39

OK, I am getting many replies... dialogs etc... I d like a PM regular Email, and I will reply with a list of what I have at the moment. That seems the best approach to me unless you advise otherwise.

Thanks.

walkgirl, agentorange i was able to recover yr email so no need to send again.

walkgirl - 2012-01-05 09:42

walkgirl - 2012-01-05 09:51

walkgirl - 2012-01-05 09:51

redbenjoe - 2012-01-05 10:42

the tc 5 is also extremely efficient --

it runs on 2 D cells -

mine have lasted for over a YEAR !!!

xtof.huygens - 2012-01-05 11:34

Those that requested it should now have received an Email with the list of stuff available and some thoughts on prices.

ao - 2012-01-05 11:57

Thanks for the email and you have some very nice units there.

xtof.huygens - 2012-01-05 12:35

Thanks - here are some pics of items in the list (off topic).

Maybe Mr. Pierce can do that nice inline thing again :-).

Slightly unfair.  I've personally seen them go for a lot, lot less.

Xtof, we are more than happy for newbie members to join the site in an attempt to sell their items but please refrain from influencing buyers.

Have you considered listing them on eBay yourself?  You could get $745

xtof.huygens - 2012-01-07 01:20

Point taken. The same seller now seems to be accepting offers for new ones for $500.

ao - 2012-01-07 01:45

OK, but eBay BIN is an opportunists market.  We're constantly amusing ourselves by some hysterical BIN prices, the $177,000 Lasonic springs to mind.

The point being that these things do not have list values, they are worth whatever someone wants to sell them for or whatever someone wants to pay depending on the nature of the deal.

As a seller you are entitled to ask whatever you wish but obviously within the realms of credibility otherwise your items simply will not sell.  Personally it's not my business to comment on your prices but if I was selling these things (Personally I'd actually keep them ) I'd give potential buyers more detail, maybe some glossy pics, a bit of history maybe.

xtof.huygens - 2012-01-07 02:14

For the TC-D5M @ $745, this was an auction with 18bids if I remember correctly. I have posted some pics above... list includes some history also - but agree more doc is better.

For the Sony ICFs there is my site and some stuff on youtube (not much, on4iy channel).

For BIN, I think there is a difference between people who know what there selling, and those who have no clue... I don t buy too much audio on ebay, but I do so a lot for test and measurement, and yes there are hysterical prices there too.

Xtof.

OK, in that case I'll keep my nose out

A boxed NOS TC-D5M is quite a catch for anyone but I'd recommend you list on eBay, the 10% hit on profit is worth the wider market in my view.

retrodos - 2012-01-07 07:42

I be honest with you, as far as the TC-D5M  seen them go for $250-$375 NIB, or $99

or lower, not in the box. These are not that rare, or that sought after. I say throw it

up on eBay and see what it fetches.

Sometimes you get people that shill bid up their own items, powersellers are known

for doing this, to try to increase the value of a item, or someone overbidded and

didn't pay. Had a guy that bidded up a broken DD9 I listed, had 15 bids, for what

reason I don't know? Because he never paided, ended up open a case against him and

he had thosands of feedback, so wasn't expecting that?

xtof.huygens - 2012-01-07 09:43

I am keeping it! :-)

staudt - 2013-02-26 11:39

Hallo,

You want to offer me a price.

regards

Frank

Hello, I landed on this website as I'm researching how to sell my Sony TC-D5M.  I think this is not a marketplace website, but i post here in case anybody else reads this and is interested.

i will put my recorder on ebay later this week, the ebay UK site.  I will have a fairly high reserve price and long auction so please don't be put off and get in touch with an offer.

This is not a new deck, but it has had one owner since new.  I bought it in early 1984 and it has been for a long time my second deck and trusted live recording device (actually I wonder where a new boxed item could be coming from now, it would be like buying a zero mileage 30 years old car...)

BTW this is a very nice website, I hope to 'see' some of you enthusiasts on eBay.co.uk

Thank you.

michiel - 2013-05-06 23:20

These are very nice recorders! Extremly stable performance in recording and playback. Like them much more than the D6C. Easy to replace the belts on these too... Got three of them...

xtof.huygens - 2013-05-07 00:18

FYI, the NIB TC-D5M + LC-D5 I had in my collection just sold last week, for 800 EUR inc. shipping.

michiel - 2013-05-07 05:01

Thats a nice price you got for it! Got mine from 25 euros to max 40 euros, almost mint. But without box, but with case and strap...
