Very nice indeed. You want to check that shipping price, seems slightly on the high side
bookasan - 2012-03-30 12:04
The shipping should be calculated based on 2 pound boxed weight for Priority mail.
If it is showing high, I am not sure why. My domestic shipping is only showing as $5.50
ao - 2012-03-30 14:20
Yeah, it's showing as $39 to ship to France which is about $20 more than it should be. Shame, it will turn away the majority of any interest.
bookasan - 2012-03-30 19:46
Thanks for pointing it out. It turns out it was calculating 3 pounds instead of 2 and listed as Priority mail as first option instead of airmail. I couldn't change it as there was already a bid. I ended up relisting it as I want to make it fair for buyers across the pond.

Now I'm in
Bookasan, you're a star for doing that & I hope this auction does well as this is a rare beast, esp in this condition. I was lucky enough to acquire the bellow unit and it's a deffo keeper. I'm going to watch your auction with interest...now

Oh, that's the Sony where the heads are on the other side than the Play button.
Weird.
Surely it's servo-assisted, right?
ao - 2012-04-17 05:57
Nope, nothing that clever. It relies on thumb pressure to apply heads, same as WM8 & WM16.
isolator42 - 2012-04-17 23:54
The tape mech must be nice and complicated in there then...

As well as the WM-6. Watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfMq6nTSsys
I prefer this method rather than the the heads and the pinch rollers attached to the door hinging when loading tapes. It makes it simpler because you just load in like on cassette decks.

Solitary, you'd probably be better off starting a new post for this in the walkman for sale section.

Nice to see one more in the 'wild' ...mark down your starting bid price a bid to get some action started...or be bold and sit tight All the best!
