Almost finished going through the lot of 175 Walkmans I recently acquired and came across this DC2.

Looks like it is an early DC2. Has a metal door release and first generation amorphous head. I am impressed to see that the clear plastic window is still intact. Not many DC2 cases have an intact clear plastic window.

Just found on eBay:

Once again, the plastic window from DC2 case still totally clear and intact.

^ That one above is a more recent revision with a 5xxxxx serial number and plastic black door catch, so I would expect that to have an intact window.

Which is more than could be said for this typical example.
