Am I wrong or is this package worth way more than $150.

It was originally an auction, I guess the bidder played on their ignorance.

No, you're right,. it's a good deal but this is the joy of the auction format, some you win, some you lose.

Actually that was a BUY IT NOW auction so the seller obviously had no idea of value and priced it WELL UNDER what it was worth.  I would have bought that in a heartbeat for twice that and it would still be a great bargain.  All in Excellent condition and even the box looks really good.  Someone got a deal at 25% of its value roughly.  Yes that seller lost out but their own fault should have been auction style with bidding.

Like agentorange said, thats the joy of auctions. I picked up my HS-J08 for a fraction of what it would have cost had the seller known what they are worth. cost me NZ $150 which is a bargain considering ive seen them go for over $600 US

plenty of ebay sellers buy their goods for just a few bucks each at yard sales , etc

so -yes --this seller left some money on the table--but may have made a 100 times

profit   = win //win for all

also --its swell to see an ebay buyer finally get a great deal !!

Agree 100% with redbenjoe.....i doubt the seller diddnn't know what it was worth....look at his feedback.....nice to see an honest seller, not after every pennny he can get...good for the buyer and the seller

He price it, so I won't say ripoff. For all we know he could have paid 5 bucks at a yard sale or thiftstore, granted he could have sold it for more. But sometime you price stuff to move not sit, so you price it based on what you have into it and so long as you make a profit it doesn't really matter then, you move on to other items.

I actually gave one away for free years ago, before value when way up on them, plus had a few of that model, first one without the walkman logo and some with the logo, during that time

@redbenjoe - Agreed! eBay is usually full of overpriced stuff, so at least someone scored for once.  None of the usual $800 DD9, $400 D6C, or $250 DC2

I actually asked the seller what the logic was behind this pricing, and they told me they didn't realize the fix was as simple as a belt replacement.  They thought since it didn't work that it was totally busted even though the light came on, and the pricing was a mistake on their part... but obviously they had to honour it.

I agree that as long as someone makes a profit it's good... but at the same time, there's a huge gap between what this was being sold for and what it's actually worth.  Even if he got the walkman for free it's still an item that should be sold for a fair price.

Oh well, just thought it was an interesting sale... at the end of the day, I guess it's better that a collector takes care of this walkman rather than it just sit in a basement and rot.  Hope you guys find some more good deals
