Would you post a link to this auction? Worth taking a closer look I think.

Hi Corry, yeah, many sellers do this. Sadly there isn't much you can do. It happens to me a lot and I usually find that a message to the seller usually fixes the problem maybe with a threat to report them to eBay.
otherwise just look at it as flattery
corry - 2012-09-27 05:35
Hi Guys, for me its no problem, but maybe for the seller, because its nit the authentic Walkman. And what ist the reason, to show the Case only and the Walkman from stolen photos???

hi everybody. i think the matter is serious. on ebay mr. r69hacked has only a 96,5% of positive feedback. in itself, this means little, since he may have been hacked by scum buyers. yet look at the 2 negative comments he got in the last 12 months. they read:
1. Like new does NOT = multiple scratches & permanent fingerprints on disk.
2. cd listedLIKE NEW dozens of scratches Says mail back at my expense & restock fee
provided that in both cases we are dealing with genuine complaints, this means that what is shown on his ebay shop is NOT what is actually sold. i always give people the benefit of the doubt... sadly, however, this seems to be consistent with the alarm bell rang by corry

Thanks for the heads up dude.
It's for this reason I watermark all my photography, I know it makes them harder to see the details but it prevents others from using them without permission.

Hi,

A watermark could be something simple, like your username, homepage/web-domain, or a logo you use regularly that's places over an image to identify it's owner or origin.
example:

Oh,
okay !!!

it's not a matter of copyright on the photos. it's a matter of transparency and professional ethics in e-commerce. seller shouldn't be allowed to show false images of the objects on sale. either you show the real images or you don't. or, if the regulations of international trade allow it, you show generic photos of the object, BUT AT THE SAME TIME you state in block characters that the photos do not correspond to the object. so that the buyer knows.
actually there's a lot that you can do: you can signal the fact to ebay; you can ask ebay to take action against unethical behavior; and you can ask ebay to implement all applicable regulations in the field of e-commerce. this would be a good start.

I have stumbled upon my photos from tinypic in ads two times now... well what can i do? I would want to do something, but what would it change? Nothing perhaps... It is the Wild West out on the net, finders keepers...

I mailed the seller too and I asked if the pictures were of the actual item. He replied 'it is what it is'
So yeah, the guy's a clown. Avoid at all costs

Yeah, sorry guys, my fault, the seller didn't say this, I made it up, sorry Corry.
I got a mail from him saying that I should have made him an offer as it's now sold. I replied saying I hope he got more than $200 for it as that's what it's worth in this condition (thanks to Corry's pics), I suspect he's kicking himself.
Corry is right, the seller is a rude idiot.
