PANASONIC RQ-JA20X Rare dbx player

Hi everyone,
I Have a very scarce Panasonic RQ-JA20X one of the few players with the dbx noise reduction. The player is partially working: transport is fully working but the sound is distorted with high pitch sound - I think the caps needs to be replaced. The unit has some scratches but in general it's in good cosmetic condition - 7 out of 10.
anyone who's interested can PM with an offer. Thanks.
Cheers,
Julian

Contact Retropcdos Maurice he has been working on mine for long time mechanics of this machine very good but flexible pcb fraught with cap rot and other problems. Very very tough to find caps and repair. But he prob would want one. I have two now and they are exceedingly rare indeed. Member David has one as I recall and thats the only members with such model, also but I dont know of anyone with one working totally correct. I hope to be one in the world soon with Maurice's perseverance.
vintage dbx rules I have several pieces of equip. for home stereo/recording etc. and the ultra rare portable dbx decoder for walkman so dbx encoded tapes can be played on Walkman ( only two walkman ever made with dbx noise reduction the Panasonic and the Teac).

Thanks John Edward, but I don't like to impose myself.
Yes it is kind of a rare bird, I was ready to replace the bad caps thinking it is a piece of cake...then I saw the flexi PCB and I got scared ! you can easily damage the board if you're not a qualified service technician. There are even some warnings on the board like: "Never bend this portion back", if you do, it can easily break the board...scary because as you said, it is a rare unit and it was a pioneering concept by Panasonic to show the competition they are the best. Almost no brand name has such a player...not even big Sony.
I totally agree with you, dbx rules. I have AKAI GX-8 cassette deck with dbx that sounds awesome using the dbx NR. according to the manufacturer specs it reaches up to 110 db in dynamic range. while Dolby C hardly reaches to 80 db.
Dbx was the professional's Noise reduction therefore it was far better than Dolby for consumers.
The reason why Teac made such a walkman because Teac is the parent of Tascam for professionals,. Tascam was one of the leaders in dbx recording gear for professionals, they made many dbx equipment (reel to reel, tape decks, stand alone NR etc.)
that is the reason why parent company Teac made such a player for consumers.
