people joining only to advertise their ebay sales should be banned. they have zero interest in the forum & never offer their items to members before putting them on the bay. they do not even say hello: they just join, put an ad & even expect our thanks for spamming the site

I kind of agree with you Samovar, there is an impersonal rudeness to this type of thing but the auction seems genuine enough and it has no silly reserve.  To be honest, it compares favorably to some of the prices asked by some of our members.  But I do agree with you on the courtesy angle, a hello or an introduction to the walkman with a bit of history would have been polite.  I tell you what though, bidding looks a bit dodgy.

If you like I can PM you his email address so you can send him a link to your car or house ad whenever you decide to sell?

Perhaps a 50 post min. should be applied before any sale/ auction etc can be advertised? And no direct PM'ing of members who advertise they are looking for a particular model as well until the 50 post rule has been achieved?

It might filter out the quick sellers and non collectors?

thoughts?

Someone told me the parts for the model are not easy to obtain used and in great shape and suggested that price range. Is it a fair price? Thank you.

Yeah, Joey, some 'might' see this as thread hijacking.  Can i suggest you start a new post in the relevant section, whatever that might be.

I just want to be fair and reasonable with my price and to be respectful to potential customers. I really don't know of anyone other than the person who quoted me the price to sell, so I figured I'd ask here with you since you're collectors of these radios. If anything, let me know how to delete these posts here so it doesn't look as though I'm trying to take advantage on this site. Very sorry if I was wrong to ask in a post here.  Originally Posted by agentorange:

That's fine but I doubt whether MrIncognito (if he ever returns) would appreciate you asking it here.

Either use the dustbin icon to delete posts or simply start a new topic in the relevant section.

Listen everyone, I found this website when researching the item I am selling and as this messageboard is for people selling walkmen, I thought there might be some people here that would be interested in it. I didn't realise it was sacred ground and people would be so easily offended, I'm sorry it is not of interest to the people posting here but It seems it is of interest to some people who frequent this messageboard as the activity on my item suggests. If by saying hello and introducing myself first would have been correct etiquette then i'm sorry i didn't do that. I'm just hoping the item goes to a good home where someone will appreciate it as I have done. If you want to discourage people like myself from informing regular users of this site of collectables for sale then may I suggest a clearer disclaimer of your rules and regulations before registration is completed. It's not as if I'm trying to flog Viagra or something irrelevant anyway.
