. Don't worry, the specialness is still there. I have a few cassette Walkmans with a tuner and also two MP3 players with an FM tuner for comparison with the Toshiba. From memory, my KT-S1 tuner packs beats them all. The quality of sound, signal and sense of air/space was fantastic. Might have to buy some more AA batteries now to give it a test run. This was bought for me by a friend for just a few pounds approx 6 years ago!

Well well long lost David... glad to see the Yukon has not frozen you and your grand Walkman collection.

NAK D... totally agree remember few years back when I was aggressive buying and had maybe a dozen ( now 25)  Walkman with tuner packs.   The Toshiba early ones really did have a realism, clarity and spaciousness that you could hear put it on top of tuner pack walkman as the best radio period.. even against later models.  My KT-R1 and KT-R2 ( the largest of them andI think strongest amps of the early KT series had the best sound but KT-S1 , S2 ( kinda a HOLY grail) even S3 all had great performing tuners.  Have noticed some tunerpacks work better than others same model since I have many Toshiba's with blue FM tuner pack.

Great unit up for sale David hope it finds a home as caring as yours has been for it.

Although Panasonic and Toshiba then Sony my favorite brands seems that Toshiba's just dont fetch much money on eBay yet almost all models had very low serial numbers often.  I have few even with Serial #'s in the hundreds.
