I'm looking for a chunky early 80's Walkman in restored condition, especially an Aiwa, as they had the most slammin' styling. I'll consider mid 80's, too. The more visually exciting, the better - I like tons of chrome, metal housings, and trashy bright highlights. It must be brand name, and a radio is a plus, but it needn't have any other features. I just want something I can depend upon for frequent city use, unlike the estate-find Ebay clunkers with stretched belts and magnetized heads.

If you have something you think is dependable and would catch people's eyes, please let me know! I don't need anything rare - just flashy. I'm prepared to pay a fair market value for your unit.

Nobody seriously has anything? I keep checking Ebay, but there's a real paucity of early units, and the ones I find still have original belts and have received no more than a cursory transport check. A sony WM-f1 might be nice, if anyone has a clean one...
