Sony Remote head phones source + gum stick

Title says it all. I'm in the USA. I can see some stick batteries on ebay, but $35? It is NmH and would include a charger. (for my Panasonic) I already have a charger.
Sony Headphones with the special remote flat plug: anyone know what to do? There is not even a work-around plug to by-pass this. (WM-FX55)

if you look through ebay you can find the gumstick batteries for as low as about 8.00. if you forget about all the aiwa batteries you should have no problem with the sonys. they will all work regardless of the type and power. about 6 months ago i got a new charger and 2 gumsticks + postage and insurance for 26.00. they are working great after a couple of charges and all models of batteries seem to charge just fine. i have 4 working gumsticks which will work just great in every player even though it may use a different battery number on the player. i can get up to 8-10 hours without the side car. add the side car and your good for a long long time before a recharge is necessary.

A fresh search turned up some I had not seen, found some for about $7.05 (usd) shipped. Thanks. This is for my... (walks over to another desk filled with boxes and zip-locks full of fun stuff) PANASONIC RQ- S35.

For my current project, I'm trying to get a Sony FX55 going again. (that's why I need headphones with that flat Sony remote plug) Its not in super shape, but not bad either. Figure this would be a good one to revive. I have plenty others if this would be too complex. What do you think? The only other Walkman I've had apart was a new type, Chinese made Sony, am/fm cassette. No screws! There are tabs that engage the case halfs. Very cheap construction. I had to put the belt back on that one. I need to buy some supplies. Sould I buy a misc. belt package they sell? Or just certain ones? I need that belt tool too while I'm at it.
