Need A/C Adapter for Sony WM-D6C

Have a good condition model that needs A/C adapter (6volt). Battery operation may not work as the unit had some batteries that had gone bad and leaked for several years. That's cleaned up now but I'm hesitant to try.

Your profile does not say where in the world you are.
But if you are in the UK, you have two options. You can either buy a universal charger that is capable of outputting 6 Volts DC at least 700 Milliamps, but you must ensure that you observe the correct polarity on the connector or you will damage the extremely easy to damage speed controller in the WM-D6C. Or alternatively get the original Sony charger, for UK that is the AC-D4HG and there are various people selling those on eBay UK.

Thank you very much! I'm in CA, US. I did find the items on ebay in the UK. I may go that route. Much appreciated!

Do note that in UK we use 240V AC as opposed to the 120V AC in the States.

Thank you, yes. I would assume an adapter would sort that out. Also, many modern adapters work on both systems. You just need the adapter to fit the outlet. At least it's that way for US adapters (such as for my Apple laptop). Perhaps it's not the same in reverse (UK devices perhaps not 120/240 rated)?

I have the original UK Sony adapter and no, it is not a multi-voltage (ie 120-240VAC) type. Would likely work with a step-up transformer, but quite frankly why bother, just try and get hold of the 120VAC version instead.

Hi.
You can get a multi volt adapter from somewhere like 'maplin.co.uk' but make sure that the polarity is selected correctly before you plug it in! I think Sony used a negative tip instead of the more popular positive way around. Get it wrong and it could be curtains.

The power adapter is to work with all these models. You can always do cross searches for a power adaptor for one of these models. You may get lucky and find a stock one. This info was found on www.partstore.com
