Thanks deliverance.  I tried to start a dialog with walkgirl but got got an error saying I don't have permission.  Is it because I am a newbie or does walkgirl have a block on?

 

walkgirl, I am seriously interested in purchasing a CP-1.  It was my first walkman, which I no longer have.  I still have all of my tapes though, and was wishing I could listen to them like I used to.   I would be forever in your debt, a friend for life.

For some reason Walkgirl has had problems with PM (private messages/dialog) in past.  Maybe AO can look into it.  In mean time if you click on her name under Avatar then click extended profile you will find her email address you can contact her that way.  nicolleerven@hotmail.com

Yes, I would be interested.  I did buy the one from walkgirl, only as it turns out it plays too slow.  If you watch the video of it playing that she posted it is obvious, although I didn't notice it then because I wasn't familiar with the song it was playing.  Funny how a collector of these would be totally oblivious to it running slow, and then stop communicating with me when I wanted a partial refund.

I got good news for you, you don't have to buy a new player.
If it is not old belt, then you can adjust the motor speed by using the speed adjustment potentiometer in this hole. you can speed the motor up or slow it down. You should use a small flat screwdriver like the one for eyeglasses repair, size 1.4mm. Good luck!
