Wanted Aiwa JX505 With or without accessories.

I am a music collector and have found myself with a pile of tapes that need my appreciation! I love analog and good hardware makes all the difference. I want a Aiwa JX505 for playback. I currently don't have a tape player. If you are known to this community I have no problem to paypal you money if we agree on a price. If your unknow I would still love to hear from you and discuss other options.

Someone please make my day. I want my new toy ;-)

Thanks! There is one on Ebay right now but if I get chance I'm still going for a JX505 as really dig the black colour.

If I don't find one in 6 days (end of auction) I might throw a bid at that JX50

The JX50 that Maxim refers above is in a very rare silver colour. However it lacks the AAA battery clip and is a newer fixed azimuth model.

I'm filling in my holiday form now. In the mean time let's see if we can get the OP a nice Aiwa JX505 With or without accessories

mvickers03 - 2013-03-07 12:42

Don't worry :-) I'm glad for the bump. I got obsessed with stuff like this and I can't get this damn thing out of my head. If anyone is into vinyl collecting who has one I could set up a trade. I need this thing.

This is the best and nicest looking highest featured tape player out there correct?

It could well be, but that's largely down to personal preference. There are those people who swear by their DC2's for example. Agent Orange has previously remarked a correctly set up and serviced WM D6C often beats the lot and he really knows his walkmans. I like the old Aiwa's (mine is a humble but nice HS-G35) but capacitor issues abound so servicing is "fun", just ask any of the very talented repairers on this site (Plop, Retrodos, Dotter Walkman and others, do a search, there are some amazing posts!). Always consider the repair angle I would say. The 505 is certainly a great piece of kit (never heard one though) and I would imagine command good prices. Yes feature count is high, but this is not the be all and end all. Good luck in your search mvickers03! I take it you have some eBay searches set up?

mvickers03 - 2013-03-07 13:07

Thank you. Yes I do, I found a website to search all eBay sites for JS50. I am prepared for the refurbishment needed on the caps. :-) I think I am in love with this model, I have looked at the Sony but I don't have the romantic feeling I do with the Aiwa. I have a nice tape player for now but is middle of the range and only enough to keep me going until I find my dream
