I just bought a AIWA RX848 and was the unit only. I need a way to power up this puppy.

Anyone got any spares for one of these? It's 2v DC I just wanna play with my new toy but struggling at the moment :-(

2V AC adapter is hopefully mine thanks to eBay and thanks to PLOP for the heads up.

I still want a 2x AAA battery clip for this though if anyone is kind enough to part with one. Only ones I see are included with devices and are very expensive. 

Do you have a photo of the contact points for the battery box on the RX848?

I got an AC adapter and the unit definitely works :-D I am trying to revive the battery but I doubt it will work, If anyone has a AAA adapter for this unit I would appriciate your help. I can pay around £10 for it.

If not I guess I can get these cheap ones from China that will power my unit at 3v on full charge. I guess I can take the risk as it was only £3.50 

You will need to leave it charging for about 1 day to fully revive the lead acid battery. Use the DMM to see if the voltage rises. If it gets to about ~2.3V then you have successfully charged it.

I advise against getting the NiMH batteries from China. You will need a separate charger for the NiMH battery, as it cannot be safely charged with the AIWA charger/adapter.

The best advice I can offer you is to be patient, save your money, and the RX848. Get another AIWA with an external battery clip present, and use the charger to power your AIWAs. You never know, you might come across a battery clip for it one day and be able to use it then.

Thanks, I have only just had chance to play with this. It has been on charge for about 2 hours and has gone from 0.86 to 1.03V so it is going up! 

I will stay away from the batteries from China. Fingers crossed for this battery.
