Wanted - WM-DD9, WM-D6C, WM-DC2, or anything similar

I'm just getting back into cassette players, and I'm looking for something that has high audio quality (for its time), and hopefully a metal case. Auto-reverse is a must.
When I was younger, I had only cheap plastic players, which would last me only a year or two before I dropped them and broke them. I never had enough money to buy a nice walkman, so mine were always fat and lacking features. I want to finally buy a nice walkman so I can play my collection of tapes (which I still have!).
If you have something, make me an offer. My price is flexible if the right one came along. I realize how much these can cost. Thanks!

Out of the three in your want list in the subject only the DD9 has auto reverse.
It is arguable that the D6C is fat, heavy and lacks features. Sometimes having less features and refining those that are present is more desirable. These are quite easy to come by, although the first editions are quite prized by some collectors for their 'pointy' amorphous head.
The DC2 is more easier to come by than the DD9, but suffers from the broken centre gear, so chances are if you find one it will have to be repaired. It is one of my favourite players. It too has a rare first edition with the 'pointy' amorphous head.
Don't get me wrong, all three are very good walkmans, but not by all means fully featured or svelte in their profile or heft.
Good luck with your hunting!

That's very good information, thanks. I guess I'm open to other models, but here are the features I'm focusing on:
Anything beyond this is a bonus.

If you were willing to loose the auto-reverse, I would say pick the DC2. The DC2 is the best value for money and sounds amazing.
I have all the 3 Walkman you mentioned about and my everyday machine is the DC2, if I want the best I take the D6C out with me. I can’t remember the last time I used the DD9.

Exactly also my opinion and experience.

I just picked up a DC2 from E-bay. It already had the gear replaced by Sony, so it should be in working condition. I'm looking forward to it. Woo hoo!

Since I have a working DC2, I'm not really looking for one. I DO want a DD9 though.
