i remember one time i had a couple of metal TDK's,they give some beautifull recordings, but make sure that the music your recording on to it is never going to be recorded over, when i had mine, both would'nt re record on any of my boxes, the music underneath would still be there and could'nt clear it,very odd, never had a prob with chrome and standard tapes, just metal ones..

Added confidence that you're buying from one of the best sellers around should come at a premium

Why haven't you whipped out your

RadioShack High Power Video Audio Tape Eraser Cat. No. 44-233A

and given your Tapes a thorough Cleansing?

TDK MA-XG are selling for silly money over priced I think. Personally I would not pay more then £15 for one.

I still have 30 unopened TDK MA-XG 90 left.

I hardly every re-record on any tape but when I’ve had to, I did not have any problems.

Sounds like the problem is your recorder. I use a Nakamichi CR-7.
