He there. Been Awhile since Ive posted. How is everyone?
I have one of these old small portable hand held Casio Mini TV's I bought close to 10 years ago. . Of course, they no longer recieve broadcast signals. I have a question. I see that these little units are still selling on Ebay. Why? Is it for nostalgia/ collectors purposes, or is it because they serve some functional purpose still? I mean, are people using them to be mini-monitors for their Camcorders or something? Thanks

Many countries there is still TV broadcasting.
And they can be used for things like that.
Also I heard that there may start broadcasting
as local community stations at low power.
So these TVs might not be that useless.
Hi people want these mini tvs to use as screens in their games console hacks ...see Ben Heckendorn hacks for what can be done his stuff rocks
Steve
Still quite useful here in Austrlia-for a short while, I had a TV-850 (although the reception ans sound quality was not as good as DVB digital TV).

You can still connect it to your cableTV.
Some of the high cable channels can be tuned
in on the UHF band so no coverter is needed.
YEAH.....SOME OF THOSE MINI TV`S HAVE A SEPERATE ARIEL SOCKET FOR EXTERNAL ARIELS....I BELIEVE YOU CAN HOOK UP YOUR FREEVIEW BOX TO IT....THEN AGAIN UNLESS YOUR FREEVIEW BOX WAS PORTABLE, YOUD HAVE TO HAVE A PRETTY LONG MAINS LEAD.......LOL
Furthermore , as long as they have video in sockets , you can hook them up to about everything.
If you want to you can get video modulators to transmit video signals
Also here in the US low power broadcasters (LPTV) are exempt from the digital TV transition. I still recieve several channels (mostly home shopping/infomercials).
Here's one I found for 3 bucks (before the Digital TV transition). Works great, and can be hooked up to cable as well (via antenna jack).
Wow , that Casio looks sweet
i remember back in the day it was something to own one of those casio tvs...
