Just got a Aiwa acoustic suspension speaker system.
Paid $2 for it.
As the name suggest, these Aiwa portable speakers use "acoustic suspension" enclosure design.
Model number is SC-A5.
These have the 1980's Aiwa logo on them.
It uses 4 C batteries in each speaker and has input jacks on both (so you could use each speaker independently or together).
Also each speaker has its own volume control.
Here's some photos of the speakers:
"acoustic suspension" means the speakers are in a sealed box, so the bass will be a bit tighter minimising the "leaking" from the back of the driver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudspeaker_enclosure#Acoustic_suspension).
One boomer I have where this works very well is the Sony ZX-7, which has those square drivers. The entire boombox (it's very small) is an acoustic suspension enclosure & it does help the sound.
Tried the Aiwa SC-A5 speakers out-these sound very good for what Aiwa calls these "acoustic suspension" type speakers.
