This is Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Home of North America's largest Bavarian festival called Oktoberfest. The building in the middle in the distance is the hospital where I was born.

walkgirl - 2008-06-23 22:24

Here are some pictures from some nice old building from
wher I live Smile

Our Church, build in 1049:

A nice 15th century castle Terworm

A nice castle from 1296:

Nice big farmhouse from 1713, the farm itself
is from 1400

And another nice little castle Smile

These are within 1 km from my house Cool

daiwa - 2008-06-24 07:22

Stunning photos Nicole! You have so much history around you... I love old buildings like that. Think of how big your BBX/Walkgirl display could be in that "nice little" castle! Cool

now that's nice Smile

I went to cambridge in 8th grade with school..it was on our way to london as we took the road Rotterdamm - Denver i think.

The chruch is stunning!Absolutely amazing!

Here are some ( probably a lot of ) photos from my town Dresden.

the famous skyline from the inner city:

a close shot of some of the historical buildings like the castle and the church:

the Semper-opera:
(shown in tv-ads from the local beer "Radeberger")

the "Zwinger":

probably the most famous building around here:
(Frauenkirche)

of course we also got a huge load of individual, new and also futuristic architecture, like the new VW-production halls:

( they build the VW Phaeton here )

And a lot more of interesting architecture that probably would blow off the entire topic.

so that's enough for the first location-pics Big Grin

Here are two pix from my hometown. Our Palatinate members will recognize the Germanic architecture, as these are buildings constructed by German Pietists who came to Pennsylvania in the early 1700s. This is the Ephrata Cloister.

ford93 - 2008-06-28 20:44

Lots of beautiful pictures!

2steppa - 2008-06-29 14:33

After a lovely day it clouded over for a while this evening and we had a short, sharp shower - which also gave rise to this lovely sight from my side window. Camera phone into action!!

I'm from Toledo but I spend a lot of time in Detroit. I grew up there, helped with a family business in Greektown before the casino went up, and go up there for any excuse just to get out of town.
Great city.

Enjoy,

JT I've seen that bridge many times. When I worked on Texaco tankers we went to Tampa a lot. I don't know how long you've lived in Tampa, but I remember going to this club near downtown called blueberry Hill and then taking the short tram ride into downtown Tampa from there.

hey..I live in small town New Zealand -Whanganui pop.40000.It is located on a big river /tidal estuary which means the river flows both ways.I live beside it.
I live in a 100 year old woolshed..i have the only upstairs studio in the building which is approx. 3000sq ft.This image shows how wide my studio is..

the street i live on..

a native Tui bird in the cherry tree by my bedroom window..

black sand beaches without tourists for 100's kms!

apart from the odd burnt out 4WD's!

Whanganui is amass with Art Deco houses and California bungalows such as these..

and the 'dodgey'street down the road..seemed very quiet to me!

and we hold the oldest Highland Games outside off Scotland in the village of Turakina..note parched fields instead of boggy moors!

thafuzz - 2008-09-07 20:43

Great photos everyone! What a beautiful world we live in.

- 2008-09-08 23:30

RAB really enjoyed the photos. I would love to live there, but where are you going to work in a place like that? Thanks for posting.

- 2008-09-09 13:32

good point EZ!..i supply retro clothing and stuff to Wellington..work one night at the Auction..contribute to VICE magazine..photos..and get some benefit from the govt!..but small towns still need professionals!

Ohh lovely Isolator42! I've got a soft spot for little UK villages. Vicar of Dibley almost convinced me to go live in one.

Beautiful location. What's the name of yours? I've got lots of family I've never met in the UK. Dad's from Cirencester.

Rock On.

enskanker - 2008-09-23 05:37

Beautiful little town Paulie....

I wonder if someday it will sport an i931...but I don't know.

isolator42 - 2008-09-23 07:00

See that villiage green?
My lad Sam will have his Nano in the i931 & as soon as he's able to lift it & nick 10 D-cells from toys around the house, he'll be there!

Gluecifer, the village currently providing me with somewhere to aim for when I leave work is called Godstone... Smile
I like how that pic above makes the M25 look so small.
This is a more normal view of it near us:

Hi Endzone... Yup, I remember Blueberry Hill! It was on Harbour Island, downtown... It has changed names, now its Jackson's. And they are painting the spans on the skyway bridge to be MORE yellow now...

This thread is awesome! I agree with Ramon, there is lots of wonderful scenery presented here... It looks more like a photography forum!

Keep bringin the pics, people!!!
