Yes I agree with old...anyone dumb enough to pay $12 for a 2600Mah D battery should be picked up by the Fed's, along with their 8 cases of PBR.
I use Duracell - they are pretty good

Energizer probably wouldn't get in any trouble since they advertise with the correct mah rating. I'm sure they figure most consumers don't understand the numbers.
It's sleazy and underhanded but legal.
the battery revealed inside i believe is called a C cell battery, not AA.
car companies, computer manufactures etc. etc. etc. design obsolescence into their products. capitalism. aint it grand.
