from before I started listening and buying LPs or cassettes... But of groups that I got to kow in the middle of their existence, later part of the 70s and early 80s

Manly the P-Funk George Clinton groups (at the moment, "Parliament" -which I now have all- and am now working on "Funkadelic"

Like you, I am also always on the lookout for good vinyl. I'm currently searching for good copies of stereo albums from Anita Kerr Singers, Norman Luboff Choir, and the like. I picked up a good copy of "Moondreams" by Dick Haymes this past weekend at a yard sale. Of course, I can always use some old school electro/rap that I don't have, but those are difficult to find in my area. I think I've bought it all myself!

It's defiinitely a small world! I can't believe there's anyone (besides me) who even knows who the Anita Kerr Singers (sometimes called the Anita Kerr Quartet, depending on the makeup of the group) are (were), let alone who collects them! Don't be mad at me, but I've never thought of selling my Anita Kerr LP's, mostly because I still get a shiver down my spine whenever I hear those lush four-part harmonies! Which is strange, since I really am a fan of rock. (My LP's are mostly packed away in boxes right now, anyway, and are very difficult to unearth!) I think one of the more obscure Kerr LP's I found years ago was a very early one ('50's?) on SESAC (an old licensing agency, like ASCAP and BMI) records. Her albums still turn up now and then at thrift stores, and some of them have been records I never knew existed. She must have recorded lots more than I realize!

Fortunately, Collector's Choice, a music seller in Chicago (that's featured in a current American Express Plum Card ad on TV) has reissued a bunch of Anita Kerr LP's on CD. Worth checking out, if you're a crazed fan like I am!

P.S. If you like the Anita Kerr Singers, you'll love The Singers Unlimited. Their Chistmas album (especially because it includes a number of Alfred Burt carols) is the best Anita Kerr record that Anita Kerr never made! And one of the best Christmas albums ever. Look for it!

I'm currently looking for two ghetto blasters:
A Sharp GF-4545 and a JVC monaural box made in the late-1970s that vaguely resembled a "cut down" JVC RC-838.

I got a GF 4545...... They are cute basic little boomboxes!
