What do you guys recomend for external hard drives? My CPU is running out of space and I need to relocate my music collection. Looking not to spend TOOOO much money but want something decent? What specs make a good hard drive different from a crappy hard drive?

I stil like firewire and use lacie 7200rpm drives. Not let me down yet . . If you want portable with usb power there are pleny of drives for that too . .

I'm liking these. That's what I'm going to back up all my music,etc. onto. Just in case my 80GB iPod takes a a dump.

I recently bought a WD 250GB from Dell, it was on sale, funny thing is they had a 1 TB (terra byte) HD for less than the one I bought but as my neighbor said with all that storage space what happens if something happens to it? So I just bought the 250GB, I paid $87 delivered, now it is listed for $68, the 320GB on sale for $79, 400Gb on sale for $79, 500GB $90, 640GB on sale for $86, 1 TB on sale for $99

so far the HD is working great,

i bought a W/D drive triple interface 1 tb drive and that has enough room to store all my music.

I've always been fond of Lacie products. This little "rugged" drive comes in a 500gb for under $200. Connects with Firewire or USB 2.
