What is your favorite car from a movie or tv series? I'm talking about the car that the movie was about not one that appeared in the background in one scene. A few examples:

dazed and confused - 70 chevelle
dukes of hazard - general lee charger
magnum PI - ferrari
knightrider - firebird formula
Christine - 58 Plymouth fury
starsky & Hutch - ford gran torino
gone in 60 seconds (2000) - Eleanor 2 shelby mustang GT500
mad max - Modified 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe
better off dead - 67 camaro RS/SS

miami vice white testarossa
the munsters munsters coach and dragulla
james deans merc
the love bug.
the accurate sound track of the chase scene from "bullet"
i love the car from MAD MAX now that is a bad ass car.
The Jaguar E-Type converted to a hearse from Harold & Maude
The Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger & Fireball
The 911 Porsche from the opening sequence of LeMans with Steve McQueen
The Aston Martin Vantage (or was it a Vanquish?) from the later Bond flicks
The Delorean from Back To the Future
The Mach 5 from Speed Racer
The old Volvo coupe from The Saint
The Lotus Espirit from The Spy Who Loved Me
Tony, that's a great list! I would have to add at least one more (at the moment).
From the movie "The Car" (1977):
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075809/There were six Cars built for filming by Barris Kustoms in North Hollywood, California: one main car of steel and five fiberglass replicas. Three replicas were destroyed in the climactic explosion scene and the other two replicas were wrecked in rollovers. The gloss-black main Car is a custom Lincoln Mark III with a locked 4.11 differential (to allow easier spinning), a 460 cubic-inch V8 engine, heavy-duty suspension, roll bar, safety harness, and amber-tinted glass. The top is lowered and the beltline raised. Twelve craftsmen built the main Car in six weeks.
Great choice,
Fatdog!
If I ever become rich somehow, I'm gonna have one of those built to spec,... park in the middle of a driveway when it's dark, wait for somebody to walk thru, flip the headlights on, rev the engine and blast the horn at same time... Hopefully, it'll scare 'em sh!tless!

Frank,Christine is awesome! There is a guy here in Wisconsin who has an exact replica of that great car. I mean it is sooooooo straight and perfect and he even has replicas of the license plates that he sticks on at shows. I seen him at a couple of car shows a while ago. He has a hidden stereo with a remote controlled cd changer, anyways I was talking to the owner and this guy comes up and totally freaks out at the sight of seeing this awesome 58 Plymouth sitting there so the guy asks if he can stick his head in the window to get a peek at the interior? So the owners says "of course". So the guy stick his head in and the owner say to me "check this **** out" he whips out a remote and cranks up the stereo a bit and plays a the tune from the movie when Christine stalks Moochie before she cuts him in half at the loading dock..... Man!!!!!!!! I thought that guy was going to **** himself,we laughed so hard!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

OMG --dave !!!
THAT was the ultimate cruel/duel car movie.
The 60's Batmobile is my favorite all time since I actually was Batman from 1966 to around 1969 until Kindergarten brought me back to reality -
The Steve McQueen Bullitt car is my favorite movie car. I have a 2001 Mustang Bullitt that I drive around on weekends. I play the soundtrack from Bullitt in it and looking out over the highland green hoodscoop with that cd on is just awesome. Somehow my wife and daughter don't think it's so cool and I have to change the cd to taylor Swift or Hannah Montana
Also, the yellow Milner hot rod from American Graffiti and those really cool asian guys in the shelby cobra were awesome.

I'm with billpc55 on this one. It's a '74 Dodge Monaco with Mount Prospect PD emblems on the doors... the Bluesmobile!
"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas."
Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake: Hit it.
My second favorite: the Family Truckster from National Lampoon's Vacation.

440 with a six pack too boot.
Bat-tooncy ya'll!
Love the Monkees GTO Agent. The Batmobile was partially constructed in the Ford plant in my hometown in Ohio.
Great clip from DUEL Bill. My fav line in the movie is when he stops next to the school bus, and all the kids get out and start climbing in his car, and Dennis Weaver sez:
"Hey you kids, that Hood'le dent!" Classic.
I've had that slant six, as you point out, in my 70 and 72 Darts. Awesome cars, still lots on the road, they go forever! I think there was a stock version with a 418, considered one of the fastest of it's time...
hey -check out spuds link !!!
any/every car thats ever been in any/all movies
WOW !!
thats like EVERYTHING
I was just reading about the 1971 Plymouth Valiant used in the film Duel. If it wasn't the V8, it must've had a "slant 6" engine. A 2.8 or 3.2 litre engine producing barely over 100 horsepower. That's pretty terrible, even for back then, isn't it?
That makes it a good choice for the film.
My nomination?
The red 1975 Vauhall Chevette 1300L in The Likely Lads 1976 feature film:
...with it's stonking 1256CC 4 cylinder engine giving a blistering sub 15 second 0-60 time.
No?
No.
Trabi goes to Hollywood
btw
Go Trabi Go
I am *loving* imcdb.org
I may spend a significant proportion of the rest of my life on that web site...
The police cruiser in "Car 54,Where are you?" is my favorite. For some reason I can't find a picture of one from the show.Imagine the car below with a black upper body color instead of the turquoise.Oh,yeah...and an old style "gumball" light on the roof. The '61 Plymouth Fury is probably the best looking car ever to roll off the lines in Detroit,IMHO.
K.I.T.T. All the way
