This Happened in front of my friend Rey's house . We were stranded there for almost 3 hours . The Police would not let us leave the property .
This ex - State Trooper was wanted for armed robbery out of Keller Tx. He was later found out to be the Dallas freeway shooter as well .. 2.5 hour stand off with Garland Police and SWAT .. Ended when he tried to drive away but was blocked by SWAT truck . He then shot him self in the head . Here is a short part of the video I shot .

Sony DCR-VX2100 . I was so cold that night and I did not have a coat so I was shaking real bad from the cold and I had the zoom as far as it would go so the video was real shaky .
Im downloading now.. I was following this story in some of the trucking papers here what couple of weeks ago? This guy shot a truck driver and the driver managed to bring the truck to a safe stop b4 passing away. If I remember he was a Utah state trooper and was pulled from that job because he tried to commit suicide in his patrol car. He had a priest in the car with him and he managed to talk him out of it but later told the authorities. Sad...

Couple of questions..
Does it appear to you he is still alive after shooting himself? I noticed he looks like he is trying to sit up or something. I would of thought the bullet would of pretty much taken care of the deal but maybe not?
Also the swat team must of thought there was some life left in him cause they slammed him to the ground.

This all happened in the same day , and yes this is the guy that shot at two truckers killing one of them and also killing a young guy in his car after robbing a Kroger pharmacy for pain meds . He was alive at this time but died less than a week later I think .
Interesting footage. I counted approx. 13-15 Officers just standing around this guy AFTER the vehicle was cleared and he was secured on the ground. When there was no longer a threat, an inner perimeter should have been established. More officers were allowed to trample all over the crime scene. No Crime scene tape was ever thrown up to control the traffic. Officers walked away w/o their names on a crime scene log for who was in there. I'll bet the Dets. & D.A.s office hated this.
Detectives came to my house a couple of days ago to get copies of the orginal tape I have . They played parts of my video on ABC . I guess they went to ABC to find out who shot that video .
