I repectfully disagree Jovie. Just cause you like her bod you'd vote for the continued war in Iraq? Because of her gender, you'd support this conservative, misguided Bush regime? Is you're attraction to her really a reason to vote for the continuation of this administrations' 100 year war in Iraq? ...and next, Iran?

This isn't about who's hot or who's not, it's about the future of our planet and regaining U.S. respect in the world.

This is obviously a pathetic last ditch effort by McCain to cash in on the Hillary crowd who might still be bitter.

It won't matter. This "experience" attack was answered by Bill Clinton during his speech at the DNC here in Denver. Clinton pointed out that he was actually 2 years younger than Obama is now when he was elected. He went on to two terms of peace and prosperity in America, his vision and commitment to the common man far outweighed any lack of "experience".

For me, for this country to actually elect a man named Barack Hussien Obama, now that would reinstate my faith in this great country!

Certainly, experience is important, but this is the most charismatic candidate I have seen in my life since Bobby Kennedy and he will get things done. His Washington experience far outweighs this puppet McCain has chosen. Hell, she's more conservative than him! Roll Eyes

Wow! Just to be fair all around. MY thread (Why I'm proud to be a Texan) was closed on the 1st page with this statement.

please: No political statements/discussions on this board.

I had no problem at all and completely respect the mod's decision but, I was just curious how this thread was different. Maybe I'm missing the point guys. Sorry Confused Leaving

monolithic - 2008-08-31 22:08

I understand your point completely. Nod Yes

Actually, the conversation didn't get serious until Jovie said what he said and Daiwa responded... Get rid of those 2 posts and we can get back to havin' fun again! Wink

daiwa - 2008-08-31 22:12

That doesn't seem fair Fuzz. I'm not sure why we couldn't talk about politics in an "off-topic" discussion. Afterall, we're all adults, I respect your opinion especially based on where you've been and what you've done for our country.

I imagine we don't fully agree, but you have a right to state your opinion. Regardless of what Mono sez. No one has to take part if they don't want to.

But, I don't think there's any chance of things getting too serious Mono...

I Agree with MONO. This thread is more about the beauty of a woman. It has nothing to do with politics.

daiwa - 2008-08-31 22:28

Thanks for clearing that up Fatdog. I was mislead by the political theme of your post. Then I got caught in the absurdity of the moment. Here, let me lead by example, and bow out gracefully. You're right, it's not about politics... Goodnight ladies...

It's just one of those taboo things - like religion - you're not supposed to really talk about 'cause regardless of it startin' out innocent, the conversation has the potential to get seriously heated real quick. According to the mods, this ain't the place to talk about things like that... Feelings get hurt, hateful words are thrown around and good people get banned. We sure don't need that! Wink

Great point Mono. I hated even bringing it up and interrupting the thread. My apologies to all. Peace my friends. Smile

jovie - 2008-08-31 23:19

I'm assuming the mods might fear flame wars of which I see no signs.I for one can talk politics without calling others names or disrespecting someones right to their opinion.Censorship of political speech will only get more common in the future so why help it along.Keep in mind there are some here that cannot even comment on boomboxes without offending others. Its not native to only politics.I don't understand that.Off topic should cover politics also (Of course thats up to the mods I suppose). However,Jovie wants a dedicated "chic" category in this forum Big Grin . BTW-TEXANS ROCK!!!

monolithic - 2008-08-31 23:37

A "chic category" might offend the women folk here...

However, the boys will be boys... Big Grin

jovie - 2008-08-31 23:45

If you worry about offending someone, you might as well stop doing anything.I'm not wanting an adult or even a 'neckit category.Just something along the lines of box pshops like Fatdogs current avatar. It would be a creative outlet and a lot of fun.

then , how about just one tw-t shot Laugh Out Loud Tap Toes

jovie - 2008-09-01 08:12

I don't quite understand the Dan Quayle analogy myself. If you read her history, she is capable and result driven.Whether you like her stand on the issues is another matter.Personally speaking from what I've seen I feel she reflects my values and views.Concerning Quayle I thought he got a bad rap myself.I'm purposely avoiding stands on actual issues here so as not to offend Roll Eyes That said,Quayle (even though only running for VP) wasn't any less qualified for the office of president than Obama strictly looking at both of their records. For some reason the media jumped all over Quayle for not recognizing the plural version of potato was missing the "S".However, for some reason Obama can talk about visiting 57 states and the "unbroken line of fallen heroes" in the audience of a "Veterans day" ceremony and largely gets a pass. This of course has nothing to do with their stands on the issues and their ability which is all that really matters anyway. Also,I'm not intending to defend either man.I just wonder why they don't get equal treatment by most media.Whether you agree with him or not,Obama is truly a media darling.

oldskool69 - 2008-09-01 08:48

OKOKOKOKOK...I'll admit I'm a news junkie (And love Fox, and the chicks! No network does better, period!) So I hear enough debate. I can understand both J & D's points of view and that is what makes our country great. I'll keep my thoughts on this issue in my pocket. And speaking of pocket... Smile

I wasn't sure if that was her or not, I've already heard of some fake pics out there, figured that one was real as it was with some other pics of her. No time right now to look for more, my wife's friends husband just passed away today at 3:00 from colon cancer, and we are leaving to head up to NY (long island) for the week.

Really good pshop work though Wink

jt - 2008-09-02 19:43

Laugh Out Loud

I don't know for sure if its photshopped, but I gather it must be. Maybe it is for real? I'd need to see a higher resolution image to disect it properly. But, to me, her face looks digital, while the rest of the pic looks like it has film grain. Like it's a scanned film photo.

And how about the news that her 17 y.o. daughter is pregnant? Poor girl, it must suck to have her life disected and put in front of the world like this.

Do any of you think that will affect votes? Interesting comments from within the Republican party on that...

later,

Again I'm restraining myself from addressing specific issues so as not to cause problems. It's Okay to be on either one side of an issue or the other (but not both!) as we're all different. That said Palin has an 80% approval rating in Alaska.Obama is part of a congress that has only a 9% to 14% approval rating.Last figure I heard, even Bush is around 28%.Of course I suppose its a bit unfair to assess Palin as an individual and to lump Obama in a group. However as an Illinois state senator,Obama voted "present" over 130 times! Not "yes" or "No",but "Present".Why is this? How about making a decision? Is it really that hard? After all, were voting for president of the U.S..We want someone who will actually use action to address the problems we face. That Palin made some rather strong statements only shows she is decisive. With her approval rating, you KNOW you are going to get results whenever she might be in a situation to do something in the future. Its a matter of if you agree or disagree with what she wants to do.

Or even "mostest bestest", please take political discussions to a political discussion site. There is enough political drivel of all kinds all over the internet, radio, TV, spammed to your phone, etc. People come here to get away from all of the crap blasted at them by the Fox/CNN type sites, and talk electronics! Off-topic content is welcome to stray away from boomboxes and the various portable electronic variants (and their media), but politics is strictly verboten around these parts.

And no Jovie, most folks cannot get into a civil debate about the size of their underwear, let alone the powder keg of politics. If you can, good, it's the best way to, but not here.

Sorry, but that's it. Further posts of member of a political nature will be removed, and poster warned. Please, kindly take it elsewhere.

Thanks.
