Hi Bendycat,
I have been doing some looking for you, but as far as I can tell, iMax makes handheld gadgets for the Asian market (hence the Sino-Japanese script/sticker on it...They have been known to make mini pocket TV and video viewers, but this is not it.
This item more than likely is a portable hard drive with an LCD monitor screen. You can connect it to your computer to transfer to/from it, as well as loading info to/from a memory card as well. The used/free amount shows how much space you have used or have left, and the indicator with the colors shows the HD in motion when deleting or moving files.
It appears that it might work in conjunction with a stylus or may be touch activated by the looks of the menus on the bottom. Looks like you got a good little toy there!
cheers mate - as i say i couldn't find any thing on it on the internet - which is a bit strange as i would of thought that a item like this would be a bit of money to buy ?
don't think it's touch screen - there is a power up button an a button with a play sign (like on a tape deck) - then on each side a slot for memory cards -SD MMC ~ MS PRO -CF ~ MD - Mini SD ~ MS Duo
the serial numbers and bar code - CN X6P.10556 and second one ADM070314372
If any one else want's to show brain power and seek out this item - i would be more than happy
cheers DMA
many thanks B

Hey Bendy,
I found this to be very strange too, considering searches for "i Max Palm computer" and "i Max pocket", iMax Japan/China" came up with pretty much zero...
I am thinking that this IS on the web somewhere, but the data is probably in Chinese or Japanese. I wish we had a foreign languages expert who could decipher the sticker on the front, that would tell us a lot I think...
Sometimes the net has surprisingly little data on things. I have bought electronics in the past that I would be lucky if I found a few sentence blurb or even a picture of the unit...this seems to be one of those examples!
well matt this throws the challenge down to you to find more info out about this item
cheers Matt
can any one else find it before matt
challange on for all
cheers B

Is there a model # on the back of it by chance?
yeah, we used something similar when we worked at AOL for storing digital pics/sound bytes etc.
It's weird databank thingy.
I found something 'related' -
http://www.made-in-china.com/c...ard-Reader-D01-.html
PF -the only numbers are as above ?
AO - seems like the same - just don't know how best to use it - but tried a sd card in it and copied it to Picsa 3 and it came up with video from my camera - it never did that before so that may be a good thing for me
strange how the web is so big and all around the world ! yet we can't find a single thing on this machine ???
