often. we post about what obsessed nutcases we all are --about this hobby
but ---compared to the efforts some folks make for other hobbies -
we are FLAT-OUT NORMAL !
_______________-
look at these shots i took 2 nights ago --its about my own teenager and his 10 surf buddies --
and the extremes they go thru --
just to catch a ONE FOOT WAVE
1. dragging their heavy generator 1/4 mile across the beach-
2. 3 big tripods for their industrial lamps -
3. 100' ext. cords
4. 2 fuel tanks
below is my kid 'gettin big air' --to jump the sharks !!
next is the only kid with a brain -- he surfs the shoreline (no sharks there)
and other assorted fools !!

oh gnarly
Looks like fun but don't Sharks hunt at nite?
yup --thats when the sharks FEED !!
so--see what i mean --
they are 50 times more obsessed than us box collectors --
---------ford- would you go in the florida ocean at night to rescue your nice M90 ??
I bet they got some really nice pictures with that setup. The white of the seafoam against the pitch black of night - wow!
yup - bobby -i have not seen the great shots from the good cameras yet -
mine are just stills from an old camcorder -- trying to pick up the flash off theirs--
as you know -- its a cool challenge to capture fast action at night --
big fast lenses and some careful settings
Are there real sharks?
Mostly card sharks, WG.
Card sharks?
What are those?, do they also eat people?
walkgirl -- that old uncle ed is often comical about sharks and various animals
the real answer is that there are LOTS of sharks , very close by - and hunting every night --
but these goofy kids are so obsessed with their surfing hobby --
that they are are happy to take these risks --
its a " so-far-so-good " type of thing
Also land sharks....

He best be ready!!
I'll be like Jacques Cousteau not fazing it at all just cool calm and wait for the right moment to snatch the M-90 off of him.
Ed, that's old-school hilarity right there!

Nice pictures - although it seems like the sharks were too scared to feed that night - by all the camera flashes
Man! I would have loved to be there taking some pics!
Thanks for sharing, Ira!
