The story:: A mate and me were hitchhiking back to Perth in West Australia in about 1967/68.
Across the Nullarbor Plain, fancy name for a desert.
We had had a lot of lifts, and in each car the radio couldn't pick up anything as we were to far out.
Then all of a sudden riding in a FE Holden, about 300 miles from Perth, Chris Farlowe came through pounding out Paint it Black.
I jumped for joy and knew it was a good Omen and it was, as my girlfriend still fancy me when i turn up at her flat. Come to think of it she's still with me 40 years later.
I was looking for it on ytube but came across this,maybe not the best choice! so that's the story.

I have to say in this instance I much prefer the original Stones.
It's a great song- I too prefer the Stones' version. This version makes me wanna slit someone else's wrists.
