craigslist offers endless opportunities for FREE crimes -

sellers are always conveniently ' overseas '

--buyers are always in a panic to capture the great deal-

before others can --so they quickly bank transfer the required

" good faith " down payment.

law officers cant be bothered chasing these 'tiny' $1000 crimes-

with foreign extraditions , etc

and its here to stay-

of course --all of us slick collectors  know better --

 i HOPE 

I heard about that on the news, it has happened often in New York recently. Last month, I agreed to purchase an iMac from someone for $900.00 but I backed out because of the location and the price was just too good to be true.

one of my kids friends --age 18 --honor student -

smart enough to have $$ earned his own cool pad - ON THE BEACH !!

started an after-school lawn care business --hired 4 friends -

the kid never even works !! surfs all afternoon --

it so hard for any of us to save ANY money -

but he did it !! saved $5000 in one year

all to buy his ' dream truck ' --a clean 10 year old toyota tundra---

no luck locally -- all rusty trucks in florida 

went on craigs list --BINGO - listed THAT DAY--a 2011 MINT tundra --only $5000 !!

(going rate = $20,000 ) --3,500 miles away in seattle

lady said she was a sergeant in the air force-- never had time use it use it ..

and -- she just got a SUDDEN surprise deployment to the mid-east -

Needed to sell it immediately -- that day -to donate the money to her church

'emergency fund'

price included FREE military air freight to the miami airport !!

so the kid was in a huge panic --because she said ' she had 25 calls already'

and ONLY immediate bank transfer was accepted

he had offered to mail ( next day air ) a  check --she said no-

BY PURE LUCK --his employees had his wheels -

so he asked me for a fast ride to the bank -

on the way -- he told me all about his awesome SCORE--

i told him it was all BS --did a quick U-turn --back home..

and while he crying/screaming ( lol ) -

i called her air force base legal division = NO SUCH PERSON !!!!

NO DOUBT --she found another sucker ( or several ) --that same day -

to send her $5000

so the kid was ( mostly ) smart --but not 'worldly' enough to NOT trust everybody..

bottom line --the next time we see a craigslist NIB M90 for $200 = 

use caution 

If it to good to be true, it normally is! Don't get how people fall for these scams, but the scammer target a person greed, as most that buy into these scams, are people seeking to get a deal to turn a profit, then they see cash in their head and all logic somehow goes out the window. Never buy into temptation.

you almost have to admit --

the lovely combination of honorable military service plus generous church donations ...

makes for a very believable//clever scam

Reminds me of a scam here in Finland when i was selling my car... A ´99 Honda Civic. A gentleman from the U.K. contacted me and he needed the car immediately. I asked him who he really is and why he wants my car but he never answered. I knew this was a scam, but i had nothing to lose so i played along. He "payed" the car + shipping costs to me. Fake online banking and checks and everything. Only thing, i had to pay the shipping company and they come pick up the car... Hmm, why would a U.K. guy buy a car manufactured in the U.K. from Finland??? Just dumb.

People like this...should be hung drawn an quatered imho
