should be fun trying them on some ghetto's

There is much hidden subwoofery going on inside these speakers:

Thier impedence is 6 ohm, so they'll work OK with boomers.

Maybe they'll not go very loud, but I'll bet the quality will be pretty damn good.

Are these actually more than 3 way paul?????i have seen the speaker on the back.....i couldn't find any info on the net about them..

That pic is rather confusing, I think. Perhaps it's for another model; the SB-M300.

Considering the 4th speaker (the forward facing hidden woofer & it's radiator), the pic seems to show a a white line drawing of a vent/port on the front (to the right of the mid & tweet). Seeing as yours don't have any ports on the front, & that they say "3 way", I would conclude that the rear firing woofer & radiator are what you'll get.

More pics of the SB-M300 speaker, showing internals & the front ports here:

A strange arrangement that: a woofer sealed & driving a passive radiator - active air coupling, it's called. I've not seen it before. I wonder what the reasoning is behind it...

Well had the speakers....phnominal just doesn't do them justice....they must be all of a foot tall, about 6 inches wide.....i have them rigged to my toy hifi aiwa xd91.......they make a kaboom sound like a transistor radio.....so much so im thinking of selling most of my boomboxes and collecting hifi instead.....just bought £1500 of technics hifi for 50 quid.....no boombox can give you this kind of satisfaction... wish i could find the technics sb 500 speakers or the sb1500 speakers which retailed at £1500.....

anyway if you can get some of these speakers, i highly recommend them....best £80 i have spent in the last few years....i mean the front driver is only 3 inches just subliminal

How far out do these project the sound?

Seemingly small box's

What power 'wattage' can they sustain?

I remember these speakers. In fact I am sure I have a brochure for them or a What HiFi review somewhere. Will look  when I get a moment. I would have considered myself a HiFi buff over the years and still have some great kit. I know what sounds best but still love personal stereos and boomboxes because that's where it all started for me.

Pound for pound, home hifi is always going to outstrip boomers for sound quality - it has too many sonic advantages for boomers to compete.

Glad you like them - it's cool to get such a sweet sound from such small boxes...

These looks like an Isobarik design, a very famous one is the Linn Isobarik or the Totem Mani 2’s

The Isobarik design gives you more bass for a given size, but tends to be more power hungry.

Aha, very clever:

"... the coupled driver pair (iso-group) can now produce the same frequency response in half the box volume that a single driver of the same type would require..."

I just have speakers with large woofers in ported 70 litre cabinets. Not so clever, but very effective
