I honestly don't think it's the humor Claret badger, just the language that may offend some at times. I wouldn't leave, just tone it down a bit.

forum farewell = ff = forward. your post, however, reads rewind. i detect a contradiction, moderators should forbid you leave the forum for utter incompetence. moreover, i love your posts and most of your avatars -- the smiling monkey with a hat easily the best, the one with your mum maybe the worst. but then nobody's perfect 

The avatar is great, but I also like the remarks you produce  They often make me snigger  You shouldn't stop.

Not been here long and probably no right to comment but for what it's worth here goes, I have not seen one thing that has offended me from any of your posts, most, if not all, have brought either a smile, a laugh or sometimes a wince, but never offence.

humour is important, in all it's guises, therefore you must stay and help keep the humour alive.

Ideally, yes. Nick is a strong yet decent character and I'm not alone in thinking he added value to the forum and I'm sure is a good trading partner. I've enjoyed his PM's and public posts.
