Hi-I wondering how I P.M. somebody on this board if I haven't p.m.them before?
It says something about a buddy list and invite members but I guess I don't get it.
People have p.m. me before but I just reply back.
For example I want to ask Fatdog a question about labels or boomboxes,how would I do that?

Hi-

A few different ways:

1) You can click on their name in any post that you see in the public forums, and select "Invite (user) to a Private Topic".

2) You can look them up in the member directory, then do the same thing.


3) Click on Go --> Personal Zone --> Private Messaging. Once you are there, click on New Private Message, then Find New Buddies in the lower left of the window. This will pop up a search window: enter the handle of the person you wish to PM, then put a check by their handle in the next window. This will add them to your Buddy List: you can then select them from the list to send a PM to.


The first option is the quickest way, but option #3 adds them to your Buddy List, making it easier to PM them from within your Personal Zone. Also, this makes it much easier to start a PM topic with multiple members should you need to do so. IE, once they are on your list, you just select the members and go.
