A new communication option is available called Walls.  Unlike PMs (private messages, aka "Dialogs") which are private, Wall posts are public.

Sometimes it's a happy birthday, and sometimes it's "please call me." The point is that it's another way to connect with each other.

The comment wall can be reached by clicking another member's name anywhere in the community.  The user's Wall can be viewed by clicking on the Wall link beneath the user's profile picture.  One can post to the user's wall by clicking the "Post To Wall" on the right.

If you do not want to use the Wall feature, follow the link below

and hit the checkbox for "Disable Comment Wall On My Profile", then click "Update Profile".

Yes, you will be notified by email when someone posts to your wall.  You can disable the notification if you wish by unchecking the appropriate checkbox:
