come on man this is sucking the life out of this forum

i can't be super quick with my humour if it has to be checked by some bloke half asleep in Yorkshire

all the times are fubar'd too as a result so latest topic has a reply but nothing visible...

that sucks nick.....is it just you or is it all of us being watched?

And your post will go to the moderation queue.

We can remove the filters but if we recall it was you guys who complained about the continuous spam we were getting.

whatever the problem, it already showed up this morning in a now deleted thread --i know because it all started with plop's reply to my reply to a post by Litfan. for some unknown reason, plop's post started replicating itself ad libitum.

so maybe there's something wrong with this site after all. actually, soon after the filters were introduced, i couldn't post anything --and i know i didn't use the forbidden words! like CB and Nak D, i too got a message saying that my text had to be filtered by moderators. this said, maybe today there's also something wrong with plop's pc --a virus perhaps?

Retro, we probably need to ping Paul or Hoopla on this one, it seems beyond our meagre means.

i apologise in advance if my suggestion sounds naive, but maybe the problem depends on the fact that filters lack proper set-up. it occurred to me that maybe they ask admins to check the very first post of each member as soon as they are activated --no matter the content of the post; or recognize & block posts containing letter strings (such as a-i-r) rather than words (air); or are (or are not) case-sensitive; and so forth.

whatever: Hoopla should provide the guidelines for their correct use, shouldn't they? or shouldn't they admit that filters don't work and change them?  unless, of course, for once conspirationists are right and we are doomed to spamming cause nike chanel abercrombie & the like are our secret, evilly dark almighty sponsors...  

i can post again too,was getting bored of the moderating before and was on the verge of clearing off
