Got this very nice boxed Sony M-1000 Stereo microcassette player/recorder last week.Box is a little worn but looks ok, it is used but not much and is unmarked and there is no wear to the case, it has everything it came with except the demo microcassette, has a pair of like new MDR-1's,carry strap, manual, warranty paperwork an office products brochure, the inserts from the demo tape and even the original Sony cotton buds still sealed. Works well but will need a new belt to make it sound as good as it should but still usable as is. In case anyone doesn't know this is from 1981 and you seldom see them boxed making this another bargain.

Now I am jealous, that is one very nice unit, where you find these I have no idea, been after one for a while, juat don't want to pay "Corry" prices, which is way over the top.

Well this was on Ebay USA again only 68 looks on a 7 day listing only 1 bidder against me paid less than $60 for it ???

I try searching tru "Stereo Micro Caassette" and nothing came up, had to have not been well listed or I would have bidded on it and a few others would have, and only $60!!

It still doesn't come up under that title even in google search, even if auction ended if you do a google search on the title it would still come up.

Dave you are packing away recently some absolutely rare boxed units for low low purchase price. Must say the WALKMAN GODS are blessing you in abundance. That is a truly rare wonderful find boxed too. Probably the best collectable mini cassette player with the M-80 in 2nd place ( I have the M-80 in Blue).
As for finding things on ebay search engine often fails. Many of my finds were just fell upon often when looking at something ebay's pick's at top thats where I always look over.
I have had search for specific model and found it while doing general search. Even have been notified with just one day left on 10 day listing from a saved search. It is not a trustworthy way to find walkmans sadly in my experience. It does work sometimes very well. I won the Panasonic dbx was lucky checked email late at night ebay just sent saved search notice. Did a BIN just two hours after item was listed won for $30 !! So one never knows.

Thanks John another great buy very pleased the M-1000 is a nice unit, been looking for one for 18 months let some nice unboxed examples go waiting for a boxed one, the wait paid off, can't remember what I was searching for when I found this one. The Ebay search engine doesn't always work very well you have put in some strange search terms to find what are looking for this is good if you do find something interesting because it may mean not many others will find it.

Beautifully made, when things like this were made properly. Mind you people cared more back then. Imagine trying to find that kind of build today. I doubt you would. A great buy. Thanks for sharing.

I remember this unit from some sort of Sony mini-catalogue I had in the early 80s. So great that it comes with the MDR-1 headphones! There were several really high-end microcassette players/recorders in the Sony lineup around then, including one that had controls somewhat like the WM-7, and one I recall that was some sort of exotic home stereo component/boombox kind of thing which I imagine must be nearly unobtanium today.
